So I dont know if it is my imagination or what, but my hair seems to to be a lot drier than normal and it just doesnt have the same texture... in this case should I buy something like a hot oil hair treatment (I used to use v05) or get some sort of shampoo that removes buildup?

What kind of products are you using currently?

If your hair has suddenly become drier, I'd say try hot oil or some other deep conditioning treatment to see if that helps. Also, try using shampoos without sodium lauryl or laureth sulfate because they can dry your hair. If that doesn't help, then I recommend Aveda's Hair Detoxifier or Neutrogena's T-Gel shampoo.

definitely try deep conditioning. i think a clarifying shampoo will dry it out more.

Well I switch back and forth between Pantene Pro-V and (gasp) Costco's Kirkland Brand shampoo (easier to buy in bulk). My hair never seemed to dry out even when I was using both, it just seems like recently I have had "hair problems". Thanks for all the suggestions though!

When hair gets build-up it feels dry...can be as bad as feeling like straw. If it's straw like you need a Malibu treatment but otherwise...keep a bottle of Neutrogena (the clear one) handy all the time and use it every 2 weeks or so. I have been told by many hairdresses that Pantene is notorious for building up on your hair which will then cause it to break more. Pantene says it makes your hair stronger by applying a layer of protien but once there's too much the hair becomes brittle.

Neutrogena won't dry your hair out. If you want to deep condition...thats always a good idea but do the neutrogena first because the buildup won't allow the conditioner to get to the hair.

Olive oil is good for dry hair. ( I've tried this one and it works for me )

I also read that mashed ripe bananas are good for dry hair. HTH's

Olive oil is good as a treatment for dry hair.

I love Paul Mitchell's Tea Tree Special Shampoo. It tingles (from peppermint oil) and really cleans your hair and scalp from impurities.

Deep conditioning helps, and definitely use a clarifying shampoo such as Neutrogena's T-Gel.

A claryfing shampoo Neutorgena, Suave, Nexxus checks those out. If you use product in your hair you are suppose to use a clayfring shampoo once a week because most firzz serum products contain silicones which block mostiure from getting in the hair and makes the hair flat.
