Going gray (or being gray)

i think grey hair on some women is really classy. i hope i can get away with it.

If my hair grew in like Nancy Wilson's or Lena Horn's, I'd be a happy woman, unfortunately,

it grows like a spider web! Make a part anywhere and you'll see gray. The edges are sparodic.

And I know it's due to lack of pigment but gray hairs are resistant to everything! Color, perms, gel, every darn thing!!!!

So, I'm turning gray and trying to hold it off by getting rinses but it ain't workin', girl!

What is the deal with Nancy Wilson/Lena Horn? How does their hair grow in? I am out of that loop - haven't seen either of them in a long time.

For anyone that talks of the transition, I guess I would again suggest doing highlights/lowlights for a blending effect that doesn't show regrowth like an all over color would.

rlongan: just tell people you are young, but went gray very early (a la Taylor Hicks!).

I am sure whatever you guys do with your graying hair will be great. It really depends on the individual, and not everyone wants to go gray. But as time goes on, don't be afraid to let it grow in if that is what you want. Graying is not the end of the world. You are still the age you are, it's what's on the inside and how you embrace it.

I'm 41 and I've colored my hair since high school. I noticed a few grays in my early 30's and now it is about 75% gray...I'm definitely going to keep coloring. My family has the wiry, dull gray hair, not a good look! Those of you with the soft whitish gray are lucky!

I'm very grey and have been since my early twenties. It's hereditary. I would never color it. Altho I do keep my hair very short like a marine.

As of yet I've only found one grey hair... I think I'll be dying my hair as they start coming in though *lol*

I agree with Aquilah once I start getting gray hairs, I will be sure to dye my hair!!
