The best way to study is to get the Milady's handbook, it has hundreds of questions on there that will be just like the written part at state boards!

i am sure you will be fine dont stress to much.

i was out of school for 2 months (due to illness)

and i was out of the swing of things when i went back but i picked everything up in a day or two.

another great idea is to find a current student to help you or a tutor just cause state board procedure has changed a ton since than....

like you dont have to do a full head of finger waves any more

I've had my license for almost 2 years now and right before I took my state board test the law had changed (in Indiana at least), I was able to do my practical in my beauty school and the instructors graded everything. And then I was able to take my written part at a college nearby. How is it in your state?

Good luck with it, remember practice makes perfect! Try and recruit family/friends to practice on! It's like riding a bike, you'd be amazed what comes back to you once you start doing it again. I also second the idea of the Miladys textbooks, they are a wealth of information, and there are a lot of Q&A's in there.

It's interesting how working in the beauty/hair industry is so different in different countries.

There are no state board exams in Australia, all you have to do is pass at college and then you can go out and work, I must admit though, they are very strict, and there is no way they'd let you pass if they didn't think you were competant.
