Now that I am doing more modeling I seriously need to work on my hair skills. Many shoots I have been to have stylists, but I don't like what they do to my hair. Most of my shoots are "Pinup" Styled shoots and I have been having the hardest time with my hair!! I think it is too long to manipulate into many of the styles they did back then. Sooo tonight I played a little and tried to make a few rolls in my hair...here are the pretty lame results..LOL

Practice makes perfect...I hope!

I didn't use hairspray because I didn't want to wash my hair. At a shoot I would spray down the little fly-aways.

Any tips are welcomed and NEEDED!!

Even though you're still practicing i think it looks good.

I have no tips for you since i suck at hair.

BTW, I like skulls shirt/pj top? your wearing!

how did you get the curls to stay?

cause i tried a pinup/rockabilly hair a while back, and the curls on top of my head drove me insane cause no matter how much bobby pins and hairspray i used i couldnt get them to stay.

this is what it ended up looking like:

i miss my red hair......

your so pretty you did a good job on your hair. This is my curl hair tip for you when ever you want really tight curls buy those spongue pink granny hair rollers and spray very little hairspray and in the morning you will have major curls.

It reminds me of a Geisha hair...

...I dunno hair. Skip me cus I just don't get hair. Haha. Sorry.

Unless you try googling that stuff - I know I've seen videos on pin-up hair unless you want to do something besides pinup hair.

I think it looks nice...but don't go by me because I have NO hair skills whatsoever. That's why all I ever do is blowdry & wear it down...lol.

But it looks great regardless, I think you did a great job at rolling the hair. I think it looks perfect from what I see in the picture. Oh and great bangs.

Looks great! A product suggestion...in school, we had to do period hair ( like 20's, 30's, 40's...). Instead of using alot of hairspray ( cuz alot of people don't like the stiffness ), I used Redken Water Wax 03 Shine Defining Pomade. It gives lightweight control, and supershine! It worked really well for me, cuz it gives definition, but still looks natural and soft. Hope it helps!

Okay, your eyes look KILLER in that last pic... The hair looks good! Your eyes just JUMP at me in the last pic LOL!

I love it Amanda!!! Have you also tried doing like a half of updo and maybe curl the bottom of the hair thats hanging down? I too have waist long hair and I did that for a wedding and I loved it!! I did what you did in this pick but left half my hair down. I curled the top and bottom. I got tons of compliments

I just looked at your blogs with the pics and I have to tell ya you remind me so much of Amy Lee from Evanescence. Trust me, thats a good thing.

I think it looks perfect in your avatar. I'd love to see your hair really thick, like mine,

Mine isn't managable, but I like that it's thick enough, have you tried extensions? I wanna see it like that !!!

La_Mari- I have had extensions but they really damaged my hair. Plus they are too expensive to really keep up.

aww..you did such a great job!! Love it!!

Why don't you trim your hair if you think it's too long? A trim is good for your hair anyway and in addition, it might make it easier to do certain hairstyles in the future.

I like the pinup style on you...it suits ya.
