Hi all

I want to use fake tan again ive not used it in 3 years but saw some in the shops yesterday and have been tempted but the prices are steep, Ive tried fake bake and st tropez also xen tan plus all the other cheaper ones and i dont like them which is why i stopped using, just looked orange and fake, but ive seen famous daves fake tan and never tried it...heard a few good things but has anyone tried this before?

also do you tan your face? as i never really did, but it just looked wrong. as i dont want to go out and buy an expensive foundation just to use for a short while, could i get away with some bronzer on my normal foundation?

thanks :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Well I don't recommend using fake tans before until now. They had acutally give rashes and irritation on my skin and does not work for me..

I would suggest Piz Bruin in the Mousse if you can find it.

Generally speaking, I am not too fond of the fake variety of tan but there is a reason for my using it.  I cycle a lot and one penalty is the acquiring of white socks.  Legs should be smoothly brown -  whether or not they are to be admired has nothing to do with it -.  When I say brown, I mean all over and there is nothing as off putting as white ankle socks made of leg skin.  A cosmetic is a positive must.  My face and body tan easily but my ankles, starved of sunshine need it.

In Springtime the need is greater, more of the all over variety which is when the smoothly applied Mousse comes into its own.  Sprays I cannot control and the creams produce a varigated effect too.

I don't fake-tan my face. I'm very pale, and have yet to find one that looks super-natural. For special occasions (very special, like weddings) I'll get a Mystic Tan or airbrush just on my body, and tan up my face with some bronzer and a warmer, gold-toned highlighter. I never go very dark with the airbrush tan, so it works. Just going out at night when I need to take the edge off, I'll mix a bit of Hard Candy Glow All the Way in Glamazon Bronze with body lotion and rub it on limbs, or use the lightest Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs. It takes the milk bottle look away without screaming 'LOOK at my fake tan!'

Fake tanning for the face is a definite problem. I found the same. Although it's nice to appreciate my natural color there is nothing cooler than that sun kissed summer look, its just makes you look healthy and glowy :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

For the body I suggest the more expensive fake tan.I know the prize tag can be scary but it's far better than waiting 4 hours to find you are covered in streaks and a stench. Talking from experience...

!!

For the face go for a fake tan/foundation in one. There are a few that you can pick up at the cosmetics counter in a compact. Look for sephora or smashbox and good luck!
