My mom has salt and pepper hair and wants to dye it a medium brown. I'm wondering what it will look like since some of her hair is white (she had more salt than pepper) and some of it is dark? Should we be worried that it will come out weird looking? I was thinking (more hoping) that the different colors will come out looking like she has low lights or high lights. Please let me know what you think and any tips I should know when it comes to dying that type of hair. Thanks.

I have grewying hair.. Both temples and other places and I use Preference by L'oreal and it coveres my grey and colors my brown hair what ever color I use.. Usually a medium brown to a slightly reddish brown..

I'd get some and try it on a small area you could trum off if it doesnbt work out.. Else go in and have it professionally done..

I use Garnier products or Nice and Easy - they all cover up the grey nicely.

I agree with Karren - try a small area first or else get the initial colour done by a professional.

They might be able to find the correct shade for her, as a medium Brown may be a bit vague.

If your mom does dye her hair to cove the grey - she should always choose a brown that is gold, red or neutral.

Ash colours don't do a very good job covering grey.

Hi!

Read about your mothers predicament. You could try black henna powder instead of a chemical hair dye.
