I'm currently using Redken all soft s&c. I'm needing a deep conditioner and can't decide between Redken All soft heavy cream and Redken smooth down butter treatment. Which one would you all suggest for thick,wavy,&fuzzy/frizzy hair? I really like the all soft s&c, but i've heard lots of mixed reviews on the deep conditioners. Any help would be greatly appreciated. TIA

ive used both of the products you mentioned above, and in fact the butter treatment to me was a lighter weight conditioner that i used on my own very fine hair and it was still light enough that sometimes i didnt even rinse it out and used it as a leave in condish

the all soft heavy cream is VERY thick, and it works well on my coarser hair extensions

...so from your description of thick coarse frizzy hair, i'd choose the heavy cream

I bought the heavy cream that was reccomended for bleach dry dyed hair and my extentions and its fantastic, the hairdresser said if you leave it on for too long it can make your hair greasy so try not to overdo it, also she said she left abit in hers and blowdryed it in.

but it was fantastic stuff, id only use it every so often tho

Thanks everybody for the replies. Southcitybabe's: did your stylist suggest a amount of time to leave it on? I plan to use it as a weekly treatment, and the regular All Soft conditioner the rest of the week. Thanks to your alls rec's I did end up getting the Heavy Cream. I plan to try it out tonight and will let you know how it works for me. Thanks again!!!

Oh yeah, I ended up getting the All Soft Thermal Whip or whatever it's called. I hope it helps when I flat iron....anyone used it before?

girly_girl for whatever you buy the bottle should give you an amount of time to leave it on. i would recomend not doing it more than the bottle says because than you will most likely just be wasting product. as in if it says use it once a week and use it every day it is proboably just going to use the product up a lot faster and you will not see any more results than you would if you used it once a week

She did say not to leave it on longer than the time it says on the tub, try it out see what feels best, if you find its abit greasy then leave it for a shoter amount of time next time you use it. I never had a problem with it making my hair greasy tho, I used mine about one a month, normally everytime I had my hair dyed.

I think Heavy Cream and Butter Treatment are pretty much alike. But yeah, the Heavy Cream is thicker and more rich than the other. Butter Treatment can be left in to control frizz.

I'm not too familiar with the two products of Redken that you mentioned, but if your hair is thick, wavy and frizzy, I'll say go with the cream. I have coarse hair and that's what I use, its more moisturizing. In fact, I use a once a week treatment conditioner everyday instead of once a week and it works good for me.
