I have almost shoulder length hair and I'm trying to grow it out. I had hilights put in a while ago and they are growing out. My hair is Very Thick, dry and has no shine to it. Is there anything you all can suggest that may help with this? I'm not sure if i'm going to put any more hilights in it or not, but probably will. I want something that will cleanse well because of the thickness, as well as make it softer and shine. Thanks in advance for any recs.

Hmmmm I use Coconut Oil to deep condition my hair. Please do a search as there are many Coconut Oil threads. As for a shampoo I am not loyal to one brand.

Is there any certain bedhead products you would suggest? I got a bottle of self absorbed shampoo because it was cheap, but that is the only thing i've tried and I must admit I like it a lot. I just don't even know what other products they have I found 1 bottle of shampoo at Tjmaxx and that was all they had.

I suggest you Tigi Straight shampoo in pink bottle. It is sulfate free and smells really good.

My hair was dry and without shine also..but after using it, I can see the difference. I would also suggest you a product to put it to ends after you have washed your hair...sorry I do not remember how to name it. :p /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Redken has some good shampoos and they have little sample sizes at the salon to see if you like it. I would recommend Blonde Glam Shampoo (this cleanses very well and also adds a lot of shine..dont be fooled by the name, you dont have to have blonde hair). It also has mica in it which is what a lot of eyeshadows have...it is like a glitter, that comes from sea shells. So it gives you shine. For Conditioners...I would suggest the Smooth Down because it acts as a heavy conditioner but it is very light weight. That will help with the thickness and dryness!
