the only thing I don't like about henna, is that really orange red colour it can make some hair go. I like the idea of such a healthy, non damaging hair colourant alternative though!

I don't believe you can use normal hair dye on hair dyed with Henna.

Make sure you research and read all instructions so you don't waste money.

Depending on what type of henna you use, you can. If it's the commercial stuff, no way-- green hair. If it's that stuff from the website above, oh yeah

I've hennaed over Loreal Preference and vice-versa. My hair turned out gorgeous

I am not at all affiliated with the site above. I just stumbled upon it when I was pregnant last year and wanted a natural alternative!

Very nice tips, but Henna is harmful and drying to the hair. Some things should only be left to a professional

at the store where i get all my essential and vegetable oils, i noticed they sell two types of henna. one is specified to color hair, the other one is neutral and according to them, gives strength and volume to your hair, and make it shiny.

so i suppose if you use it right, henna won't damage your hair.

I've never had uneven results : /

It takes about 2 hours to henna my hair. That's about 1.25 hours longer than chemical processing. Of course, how long you leave it on is up to you, depending on the result you want to achieve!

i love using henna, 'coz that's my name.. he he.

seriously it's works great.. especially in the summer it cools the scalp & with my black hair, gives a nice burgandy tinge..

I have heena'ed over very bleached, breaking hair, and it brought it back to life. I thought it was going to have to be all chopped off! I have also dyed over the top, with no issues, as well as bleached it out, though this was difficult. I am a henna devotee!! I have never found it drying, I love the shine after henna'ing. I have found a mix of honey, olive oil, extra virgin coconut oil and whatever tea i fancy really helps to condition with the henna. And if you add a fragrance oil to the mix, you can smell it for a week!!!I have been buying in bulk and mixing it up for friends as I am its biggest advocate. The more indigo or black henna you mix with the red, the darker and cooler your colour goes.I have never had uneven results, and the more layers you put on the deeper the colour. Of course you could also just try clear henna, just for condition...

I. Love. Henna. However, i would advice you do some reasearch about hwo to apply and mix it if not you might not achieve the desired results.
