I was actually going to post the same question today!!!!!! I was watching Jersey Shore last night, and they were all putting in clip on hair, so I decided that I NEED it.Not like I want to look like a JS cast reject, but I am sick of my thin mop.

LOL!!

you sound like me. i could probably live my life normally and happily without extensions, but i just really feel like i need them. i found out the salon near where i live does consultations about clip in ones and they can order them specifically to your colour, but i have no idea how much they would cost.

if you are getting a long one for length keep in mind that it will need to be cut or styled once you get it, but it will also not make your hair thicker just longer.

I used to have the extensions that you clip in but i was never happy with how they looked in my hair. It was hard to get them in the same spot all the time and if i didnt it made the cut look silly. They are also hard to match. I also dont like how it is usually one or two large pieces in the back which usually end up pressing your hair flat against your head which removes any volume your have and in my opinion makes your hair look thinner.

The only clip in extensions i have ever seen look nice on people are the jessica simpson hair do ones.

I've been looking on ebay and found these:

20" CLIP IN REMY HUMAN HAIR EXTENSIONS LIGHT BROWN #6 on eBay (end time 21-Jan-10 11:48:21 GMT)

that's just one piece, is it better to get a set like these? :

22" CLIP IN HUMAN HAIR EXTENSIONS, LIGHT BROWN #08 on eBay (end time 09-Feb-10 04:09:34 GMT)

Any suggestions/advice?

the single ones sound like a good deal. but too get thickness you would have to order 3-4 probably.. also they will need tapered /cut

When you're looking at human hair extentions, which you are, you wanna look for "REMY" in the description. This means that the cuticle is still intact and running in one direction. This type of extention has been mechanically/chemically processed but in a very delicate manner. That being said, the first ones with the single pieces is Remy; I do believe with the first ones you are just getting one piece though.

Edit: Orange mentioned the Jessica Simpson Hair Do ones....this is one solid piece of extension that is meant to be placed by the crown and your own hair woven through the tiny holes on the inside of the piece. This can be tricky to put in yourself.
