Hello, what can you use to cleanse your hair, without taking out any natural oils?

And what can you use to cleanse your scalp, without taking off too much of its natural oils? (leaving it with the perfect amount, not stripped of the ones it needs, and not too much so it will be unhealthy..or maybe just cleansing it, if thats all it needs)

Does anyone know of any all natural products or ingredients for this? Or almost all natural with only harmless synthetic ingredients (example vitamin c)

Also, I came across an oil shampoo bar, that claims it wont dissolve your hairs natural oils. Why wont those oils, dissolve my oils?

J.R. Liggetts Old Fashioned Bar Shampoo

Main ingredients:

Olive oil, coconut oil, castor oil, fresh pure New Hampshire spring water, sodium hydroxide (a binder), Rosemary, Lavender, Cedarwood, and other essential oils for fragrance.

What is sodium hydroxide and is it anyway harmful to hair?

Wont castor oil block the hair and/or scalp(example lessening the absorption of other ingredients) I read it isnt hair soluble and just sits on top?

And if you mix oils together, will they counteract or lessen each other(example a olive and coconut oil mixture for your hair)

Thank you all so much!

From wikipedia: Sodium hydroxide (NaOH), also known as lye and caustic soda, is a caustic metallic base. It is used in many industries, mostly as a strong chemical base in the manufacture of pulp and paper, textiles, drinking water, soaps and detergents and as a drain cleaner. World-wide production in 1998 was around 45 million tonnes. Sodium hydroxide is a common base in chemical laboratories.

There has to be some kind of preservative or else the product would go rancid. Preservatives are not natural. Therefore, any manufactured hair care product you use will not be a natural product.

Have you tried a baby shampoo - to my knowledge they do not have sulfates.

If you use styling products the baby shampoo will not be strong enough to wash your hair properly.

But if you are not using styling products, then Johnson's would be as good as any.

You can always rub olive oil or coconut oil on your scalp, after you've washed it, if you think it will help restore your hair's natural luster.
