I went today and got my haircut. I went to someone who is NOT my hairdresser. Its not that I dont like her, its just that she works in a barbershop now, so it doesnt have the same kick to it that going to a salon does. Plus today was her day off. I feel like I cheated (shes also a friend who I go for cofee with every few weeks). Has this happened to you, or am I just nuts.

Sometimes you just need a little variety. I'm sure she'd understand. Plus, I can totally see why you'd rather go to a salon atmosphere than a barbershop one.....much more fun and girly that way. Were you pleased with your overall cut and what not?

Yeah it looks good. She used some kinda color preserer that smells sosoo good...but i dont remember thename

Yes I I like variety and she dosen't mind. I keep coming back with her for color, she is an awesome colorist but sucks at cutting. I got tired of getting bad hair cuts and finally just told her to stop and to bring her assistent. I thought she was going to get mad but she actually gave me a discount.,

Years ago I always went to the same hairdresser a friend and hated my hair> Always she would give me old lady hair. I quit going to her and ended up losing our friendship but hey its my hair and if her doing my hair was the only reason for our friendship then I got out in time

eh .. i wouldn't worri about it ,.. after all .. it is your hair and your money

yeah ......i know what u mean.........I felt like I was cheating on my hairdresser too.......she moved to a new shop that was way to expensive for me...........I saw her one time after that and luckily I had my hair up so she couldn't tell......she said "oh, your hair must be getting long" (i didn't get it cut every 6 wks)........anyway.....I have avoided her in public a couple times since and one day she turned her back to me.......i'm sure she saw me........it's been 2 years now since I went to her

Nothing wrong with that at all! A girls gotta do what a girls gotta do! Should it come up, just say it HAD to be done that day and you knew she wasn't working LOL!

Just be honest... and if it's because of salon prices, location, or hours... then you really don't have to worry much about hurting her feelings. I know a lot of people take it as an insult, but they really shouldn't... and in your case, I dont think she would mind.

Well thankfully I love my hairdresser, but if she ever moved to a barbershop I'm not sure how I would feel about that - except I know she never would lol

i had a hairdresser that i love and wanted her to cut my hair a certain way and she said no your not gonna like it and so i cheated and i totally regret it i cried and it took two years to fix the mess but she was very understanding but to answer your question i feel guilty if i cheat and that bad hair cut cured me of straying

I sometimes do too

but I can't help it, my hairdresser is always busy, so I have to make an appointment like one or two months in advance

Well I've never "cheated" on a stylist but I think it's perfectly fine if you do so, even if she is a personal friend. Like Kim said, it is your hair and money..do what you want! I'm actually having a time finding a good worthy stylist so cheating wouldn't be the problem for me..lol.
