I read about this on Sally's website and I'm still confused sorry

Demi-Permanent: Non-ammonia. No peroxide. No lift. This is the perfect choice for gray blending. Demi-permanent haircolors have a smaller tint molecule and is able to penetrate the hair shaft. This formula generally imparts vivid color results. Because it is deposit-only you will not have a line of demarcation as the hair grows out. Lasts up to 24 shampoos, depending on the hair’s porosity. This is generally applied every 4-6 weeks. Your stylist must use the manufacturer’s dedicated developer. If a shade lighter than the natural level is chosen, then the gray hair will take on a “highlighted†effect. Can blend and/or cover up to 50-75% gray hair. Often fine hair will achieve 100% gray-white coverage. Demi-permanent hair colors are ideal for covering unpigmented hair. Depth on top of depth creates more depth. Be sure to choose 1-2 levels lighter than desired haircolor

i think you can try demi permanent if you just want to go darker. maybe one shade darker than your actual hair?

the basic difference between permanent and demi permanent is the permanent color can not be taken away by all the shampoos you do : you have to wait until the hair grows back. demi permanent can stay generally between 4 to 6 weeks.

both can be used on grey hair, and depending o nthe shade chosen, can result in highlights (for example you use the color only on your grey hair) or your natural color, or a bit darker.

i'm far from an expert, but i think it's best to begin by demi-permanent, because you'll have to wait only 4-6 weeks before trying another color.

permanent colors also use agressive products like ammonia, but now the new permanent haircolor products don't, so you have to check.

I had a Demi when my hair got ruined by yellow highlights.. my hair stayed dark for ages and just got lighter to a dark blonde (which is my natural colour), it never fully washed out which I was soo happy for since I dreaded seeing the horrible highlights. x

Great advice!

I used semi permanent color on my hair and I went from blond (years of highlighting) to brown. the difference was several shades darker. the effect was beautiful, I used Loreal Moisture Spa. I am not sure if this dye havent been discontinued though, cause i havent seen it in the stores for a while

Thanks for your responses ladies, I think I will buy the color charm demi-permanent

in a Dark Sand color or Medium Sandy Gold.

I've attached pictures what do you all think?

I think you should go for the darker one too. The light one looks very similar to what you have now.
