why is the hair in the middle of me head the driest and the frizziest and what can i do about it?

Is this the area you always part? Maybe the hair shafts have gotten broken over time so they are more prone to frizz. If it is due to parting, maybe find another part an inch over.

Whether it is due to parting or not, place a drop of serum in hands and rub them together. Then rub your fingers over the frizzy area. This will help keep the frizz down.

Hope I have helped

I think thats where most people tie their ponytail. Thats my only reasoning because i get freezies there too.

There are many reasons for frizz, one can be because of lack of moisture, lack of proteins or lipids, chemical damage, poor diet, or mechanical damage.

Some of the ways to help fix it is to use Silicone based products, moisturize, if you are using heat, use a protector.

for me it's the back of my head and i'm open to all suggestions!

If you have frizzies or breakage on the top or back of your head, have you used a satin pillow case rather than a cotton/linen one?

There might be less friction so there might be less breakage.

Ponytails, claw clips and hats can break the hair in the middle of the head. The hair looks like it's frizzing. It is really sticking out in different directions because it's short broken hair. I wear my hair up alot and I get this. I got layers in my hair because I didn't want to stop wearing my hair up. The layers mask broken hair.

My stylist said I would have to stop wearing my hair up to stop the breaking. She said even the soft terry cloth scrunchies break hair. Scrunchies and claw clips are my favorites for updo's.

John Frieda's Frizz-Ease Serum is a good product. It smooths frizzies and tames broken hair or split ends.

The dryness could also be from sun damage (and the dryness is causing the frizz). Try using a leave-in conditioner with a sunscreen, and/or wear a hat with a silk or satin scarf sewn inside when your gonna be out in direct sunlight. HTH
