Okay well where do I start?? I wanted to dye my darker colored hair blonde, which was fine b/c I've been blonde many times. This time I tried Clairol Born Blonde. Well, my hair had dark spots, orange, yellow, very ugly. Next day I went to sally's to get a wash out brown. Well, it stayed the same, but just a little darker orange!! So, I go to the salon and she did some toner thing. And, it's better but I still hate it. Still a little orangey at the root but blondish color at bottom, it's a subtle difference.. but MUCH better. My main question is, the brown roots are starting to show already. What do i do now? I don't know what color to use?! I want to use a wash out kind.. possible?? Thanks! Sorry so long!

I know you don't want to hear this, but I am sure your hair is SO mad at you right now, so I would leave it for at least another week, if not more so it doesn't end up being damaged.

I would just leave it alone, you have done enough damage already, If I were you, I would focus more on taking care of it, and not the color. If the salon didnt or cant fix it the way you wanted, there really is nothing else you can do but let it rest for a while. 6 weeks preferably

Well, it has been a few weeks since this happened. The salon told me they were shocked b/c my hair was still very strong and was very suprised it was still good to go. But I just wanted to do a wash out thing, nothing harmful. I was just wondering if it would work. Oh and I condition like no one else.

A rinse (semi) will work, as long as it is a darker color. Make sure it is gentle, Clairol Loving Care is good.

Yeah, I did it at home. And I'm guessing the stuff was bleach. It was Cairol born blonde. I am sure it was bleach. Crappy thing to do, I know! I will never do it agian!!

Not sure if either of these will help but you might get something out of them.

This advice comes from Paula Begoun:

If dyed brown hair turns brassy, use a semi-permanent rinse such as Clairol Professional Compliments (US) in Light Brown. It removes orange streaks and pumps up the shine.

If hair is coloured too dark, and you want to remove the dye: mix a little dish detergent with regular shampoo. Wash well. Follow with a deep conditioner.

To remove hair colouring from hair, try Clairol Metalex Hair Conditioner 511.

It is not gentle, does not condition hair, and can cause further damage
