Hello Everyone:

I've been trying to dye my hair a true burgundy (not brown) and as of yet I have not been able to get the precise colour. For all of you ladies who have tried Burgundy hair, could you let me know what you used. I am particularly curious about Feria Blowout Burgundy and I just heard about Herbal Essence Garnet Blaze. Please if you have any pictures post them too!

Thanks a bunch for the recommendations.

Hugs,

Me

I used to use Garnier Fructis in Sangria, which was a very nice burgundy/maroon. However, I can't find the color anywhere, and none of their current colors seems to be a good match. My mom was using Plum Berry by Garnier, and that was definitely a deep burgundy. No pics though, sorry!

Thanks Aquilah

Any little lead is wonderful. I appreciate your suggestions. If anything at least this thread will have a few suggestions on different brands/ colors to try to achieve this look.

Hugs,

Me

i see what you mean... i useed revlon colorsilk in deep burgundy... all i got was a deep brown...it looked good on me and fit my complxion so i didn't complain and just left it alone...

Loreal HiColor. Let me go search the site and see if I can find some pictures. My friend was so sad cause she could not find a true burgandy, well, I put that HiColor on her, and it was perfect.

I couldnt find any true swatches online, go to Sally's and check out the Loreal Excellence HiColor. They are permanent and they work awesome, even on dark hair.

If you already have dark hair, try henna (fresh body art quality, not the "henna" hair color in the box...it's too adulterated). It is also a natural conditioner for your hair.

from experience i wouldnt go this color, yes its a great color but it does stain ur hair and ends up being red!! it is so hard to get out of ur hair, if u want to get it done go to a hair dresser first!! as after when i did my hair this color(i used garnier) i wanted to go a dark natural brown and after 6 weeks i noticed the burgundy comin thru!! it really sucks!!

but if u dont want to go any other color then go for it, as if u change color u have to get it stripped out!!

Like i said i used garnier, umm it was like a dark brownish one.

well I did it and I finally got the color that I wanted which is a rich wine color. I ended up mixing two Loreal Hi Lift excellence cremes. I had never mixed color before so it was a little scary but I love the results. Its been like two weeks with minimal fade... whoo hoo.

Thank you everyone for all your suggestions. I will have to post a pic so you all can see.

Hugs,

Me
