What are some good alternatives or better ways of blowdrying your hair without drying it out?

I dont blow dry it either, but just cause my blow dryer broke the other day hahaha.

I've got no tips for you though lol!

the best i can suggest is to use a heat protectant, and perhaps a leave in conditioner to give back your hair more moister

My hair is slightly wavy so I have to blow dry other wise it doesn't do what I want it to do. On the weekends if I am just staying around the house I let my hair just air dry to give it a break.

Before I started this thread I let my hair airdry and it got so poofy!

Even after it was flat ironed!

I'm at a loss.

If your tryin to get strait hair, I'd suggest mark no-iron serum, it gives you strait hair without any tools, even if you have curly hair.

I use Paul Mitchell Skinny Serum (I think that's what it's called) and it is supposed to protect your hair when you blowdry. Of course the best thing is to avoid the blowdryer.....but easier said than done, right?

besides heat protectant, i always wait til my hair is like half dry/damp...that minimizes some of the damage as it cuts drying time in half.

I agree also with the heat protectant. Blowdrying your hair isn't bad for it as long as you are not doing it every single day.

yeah i never blowdry my hair everyday, it dries out the hair... i like to wrap it up in a towel and let it dry sometimes

You could use the cool air setting on the dryer and that wouldn't do as much harm...

do everything else first, do your makeup, get dressed and leave your hair as long as you can then it'll be less wet when you start drying it and exposed to the heat for a shorter amount of time.

if you use a paddle brush or a large round brush you will be able to blow dry it straight, meaning you dont need to straighten it afterwards so thats a bit better for it too.

and you should use something on it, my hair dresser says you can use anything - heat protector spray, leave in conditioner, even just a mousse, anything at all on your hair that will protect the hair shaft.

Start with a good blow-dryer. I use one with tourmaline from Sally that I got for about $50 but you don't have to spend that much. Mine has a diffuser attached to it, but if you don't have one, you should get one. A diffuser makes a big difference to me.

If you have the time, don't blowdry your hair all the way through. Towell dry it and let it air dry about halfway and then use the blowdryer to finish drying it.

Use a good heat protectant spray anytime you use heat on your hair.

If you blow dry or straighten you're hair more then a couple times a week or color your hair, It's probably damaged. I suggest doing a deep conditioning or hot oil treatment once a week or every two weeks.

I will let it air dry at least half way before blowdrying. I also make sure I use good hair products, especially nourishing conditioner when I wash. I do a reconstructor every other week and try to deep condition 1ce a week as well. When you dye your hair or use heating tools on it you have to take all these extra little steps to keep your hair healthy.
