I thought I'd go extreme and go black with my hair, I usually keep my hair medium-dark brown....the black is too harsh against my skin.

I refuse to strip my hair - and can't afford to see a stylist (I'm going to BONNAROO and Florida in less than two weeks).

I really don't want to look like snow white, so any tips on how to make it fade???

Thanks =)

You could try this dirt cheap recipe - definately removed dyed colour from my hair:

Mix one part vitamin C powder to two parts shampoo. Vitamin C powder can be found at health food stores. Purchase at least $3 so you'll have enough if you want to repeat.

Put measured shampoo in a bowl (1/2 cup ). Add 1/4 cup vitamin c powder while mixing with a fork to form a frothy paste. Work completely into your hair and leave in for 2 hours. Cover hair with plastic.

Rinse out. Shampoo and condition. Repeat the process if required.

If you want to go to Sally's, look for Color Fix by Jheri Redding, L’Oreal’s Color Zap,

Loreal Effasol Color Remover or Metalex, by Clairol.

I haven't tried any of the four so I can't recommend, but there are decent reviews on all of them.

If you shampoo your hair a few times, it will fade. You can put a few streaks in it to cut the harshness of the black.

You might also want to try buying some fake tanning stuff - it could help reduce the contrast between your hair and skin a bit.

Good luck!

a combination of using head and shoulders or some other clarifying shampoo and the sun in Florida will probably fade it quite a bit..

When I had black hair, i noticed that tanning (at a salon, not that I recommend it) gave me quite a few red/brown highlights. soo much prettier than solid black.

Honey makes the hair lighter,it's just a slow process.

also using alot of oils in your like coconut oil, and olive oil will your colour fade faster.

Acidic stuff like lemon juice, Apple Cider Vinegar or Vit C will help it fade naturally. The sun helps alot too.
