hello ladies! i've dyed my hair recently from dark, almost-blackish hair to light ash brown with a little of baby blonde highlights. i am very happy with my hair color right now but i need a good shampoo to maintain the color. i did asked my hair stylist about what kind of shampoo i should use, then she handed me a $58 shampoo from the counter and there's no way i would spend that much on a shampoo. lol

i tried looking around the drug stores today to see if there's shampoos that are made specially for color-treated hair. i was interested in john frieda and redken's hair products, but i'm not sure whether i should pick up the ones for blonde hair or the ones for brunettes since i kind of have both colros in my hair right now. any recommendation?

thanks a lot

About all shampoo and conditioner product lines have a specific one for color treated hair. Biolage is pretty good. Redken is pretty good too. Do you have an Ulta there? You could ask a stylist about which one to get. Good luck!

If you're going for a colour-specific hair care range, always choose one that suits and accentuates the colour of your highlights. Using a range for your lowlights, you risk adding brassy or dark highlights to the lighter parts of your hair, especially if your products are made to add or accentuate colour. Definitely go for a hair care range for blondes, as these help keep your highlights bright and shiny, and prevent your blondeness from turning brassy. Don't worry, they won't interfere with your ash brown colour. Ash brown is fairly light, and not very coppery anyway.

I use Redken..(Extreme shampoo and Smooth Down conditioner..)..not the line for color treated hair, but that was because my hair was kinda damaged so I had to give it some tlc...the Redken Color Extend line is really good though

I've also used John Frieda Brilliant brunette and sheer blonde..they're also good imo but I def prefer Redken...

I use Dove Advanced color care shampoo... For lightened or highlighted hair.. Works well for me and the cost is very inexpensive...
