I officially have more than I like but I have been procrastinating on covering them. I'd like to do it at home. I have medium brown hair and don't really want to change the color - just cover the greys and rejuvinate. Anyone do this at home and have recommedations? I want to use a permenant dye....and yes I have ample experience with dying at home and dealing with the "orange" phenomena.

I have been coloring my hair for years (to cover grey) and L'oreal's Preference and Excellance brands are the best! IMHO

I use Nice n Easy and Nutrisse. Right now my hair is a medium brown. I mix two boxes - medium golden brown and medium neutral brown.

If I only use the golden, my hair turns out auburn.

If I only use the neutral, my colour seems to flat.

According to Nutrisse, "neutral and golden tones are best for covering grey.

Ash tones are like covering grey with grey, ending up with drab colour."

Thanks for the suggestions...I am going to go for it. I'll post the results.
