And if a new person wants to reply to the thread within a group, they have to perform an extra step that's rather atypical in a forum, which is "joining" the group. Otherwise they can't post a reply.

It's just an observation as a user of this forum.. but people generally want things to be as easy as possible lol.

I've already sent Tony a PM the other day asking for the groups to be more easily found. The reason for the groups was so that all the related threads were more easily found - after all the search engine leaves a bit to be desired lol - and so people can post their own threads on the topic if they have questions on the products. Another reason was because not all the subscription boxes have anything to do with cosmetics like the 1st Quarter Test Tube from New Beauty focused on skin care products and contained no cosmetics in it (unless you count a tinted moisturizer as makeup). To move that thread from here to the skin care forum is kind of weird (to my thinking) because all the other Test Tubes have been posted in the makeup section. To eliminate that problem of which forum it best belongs it it simply going into the Subscription group instead. :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

 
Is this going to be picked up on Google's radar?  Alot of new users join because they are searching for info on whether or not to subscribe to these monthlys and Google directs them this way.  

 
No idea. I don't have access to the back end of MUT so I don't know if the groups are set to show up when a robot crawl takes place. I googled MyGlam and only one of the two threads on it showed up - one on page two and the other one page three. If you google Birchbox my blog comes up on page one but nothing from MUT until page 4. If you use the words Birchbox discussion then the Birchbox group shows up as first two links.



Use the words MyGlam discussion and the groups show up as the first three links.



So it's showing up on Google with certain key words.

 
It looks a little risky.  They have to use those exact words and no space between myglam.  Maybe Tony can tweek the system to make it easier for new users (or browsers) to find? 

 
Has anyone who ordered a Beauty Army box received a ship notification?  I could have sworn I read on their twitter or facebook that the first round of boxes would be shipped Friday (yesterday) but I never received any email or ship notification.  I wonder if they're running behind or if I somehow didn't get in on the first batch of shipments.  I thought I did!

I did end up ordering it, I ended up using a pre-paid debit card I got from using Coinstar a while back for just these kinds of situations (actually I forgot I even had it). They've since added (I think they said Monday) SSL protection but it's broken just like MyGlam's. SSL can be a pain in the rear to set up correctly. No notice from them and yes they said once it ships a notice would be sent out.

Mine came tonight.  If it's already shipped though, I wonder why they didn't just send tracking info already.

 
Lol you just ordered yours yesterday right? I ordered mine the day it launched and the website says my kit isn't shipping until February.

got my shipping notification!  sadly, i don't think the inaugural kits will have a surprise in them like i thought.  they're being really cryptic on their facebook page about that though.  i flat-out asked if there would be a surprise and they just "liked" my comment.  haha!  i can't stand surprises!!!!  wah!

 
That's really weird- I would email them if I were you!  Did they already charge you?  They charged my card a few days ago so I'm glad I just got the ship notice!

that is really odd.  i ordered mine on launch day at around 1:40 pm.  i'd email them and see if their system glitched.

 
I got my shipping confirmation, as well.  Interesting that they said the first 300 would get theirs shipped on Friday.  I'm confused.
