The salt water acts as a texturizer... thats why you'll find your hair gets that wavy almost 'dread' like waves at the beach. The salt binds it together --- which is nice for a style, but is also somewhat drying, so be sure to load up on conditioner

I also agree with the JF stuff...smells soooo good.

KMS has a good one too, i just dont remember the name.

after you wash your hair, dont dry it right away and let it airdry a bit. when it is 80% dry, apply some type of curly hair products and scrunch it while you do it. and when it is completly dry, its gonna be kinda wavy.

hope this helps

I use the John Frieda Ocean Spray one and it works really well on my straight hair.

I've never tried the GF surf spray, though maybe I ought to. I do highly recommend the GF curl shaping spray gel. It won't weigh what wave you do have down. I know it doesn't sound glamorous, but you may find you're getting the look you want.

mark (by Avon) has a product called sea salt styling spray that's a texturizing spray which is supposed to give you the beach wave look by spraying and then scrunching... Never tried it though...

i've heard good things about the bumble and bumble but i've never tried it as my hair is naturally kind of wavy and i like it straight

i use the bumble and bumble surf spray when my hair is dry and kind of scrunch it in and it works really well.

I have a shampoo called BIG by Lush i use too. Whenever i use it i have loads of volume and "beachy" hair. I cant use the shampoo very often it really dries my hair out, but i dont shampoo very much anyway!

the surf spray is a bit drying, but its worth it for the result. if my hair is too healthy it goes really flat and greasy

I hate to tell you this girls, but John Frieda stopped making Beach Waves. It didn't sell very well, and they replaced it with something call Starlight Waves. I want to check that one out.
