I'm do like bangs but it's really too high maintenance for me. I hate having to get it trim every 2 months. I can't seem to find a good stylist. Every time I get it trim it always end up looking different. Should I just let it grow out?? Is it worth it for me to grow it out? Here are some pics so you have an idea. The last pic is what I currently have right now.

Why dont you learn to do a home trim. It'll take you like 10 minutes and save you some money!

When I had bangs I cut them myself. It took a couple times to get the hang of it.

The main thing is to cut small amounts at a time. This way you won't wind up with one inch bangs.

I have bangs and I love them! I trim mine every 3-4 weeks.

The only time I think you can screw up cutting bangs is when they are cut too short. Otherwise, they are very forgiving.

When you trim your bangs:

Pull all other hair into a pony tail or clip back well.

Always cut bangs when they are dry.

Brush bangs straight down and trim a few mm off starting at one side and working across to other side.

Always take your time and constantly check to make sure one side isn't shorter than the other.

Finally,

Every third trim, I do go to a hairstylist. She trims my bangs when she cuts the rest of my hair.

Have you considered a blunt bang rather than side swept bang?

i wanted to get this also as i have saved a page on myspace of this girl called pursebuzz she also has a website. and she has bangs and i love how she can do her hair, as mine is the same length as hers but thicker. but one problem with my hair, i have a natural sweep when i get it cut short, we call them cow licks, dunno y. i had my hair cut like this when i was a kid and it just swept to one side. it was a problem when putting hair all up!!!

Ummm answer to ur question, maybe u should get ur hair stylist to show u how to do it!!! but i would say go back there every 3 months or so when u get ur whole hair done. or even watch how they do it!!

Thanks for the tip. I don't like blunt bang. It's too thick.

i had them as a kid and let them grow back in 1998. my mom used to cut my bangs. i had a long hair so she also used to cut my ends. i washed my hair, she would comb it until the hair glides smoothly, then with her sewing scissors she cut them, going from one side to another and cutting little bits by little bits.

if you don't want to trim your bangs, the best idea would to let them grow a bit more until you can pull them back with a small barrette.

Totally just do it at home. Getting them trimmed in a salon is a complete waste of money! All the ladies had great suggestions. Good luck!

You only trim your bangs every 2 months?! *faints* Your hair either grows really slowly, or is extremely low maintenance!
