So I'm going to Sephora in a few hours to get my wedding makeup. The basis of my no buy has been that I can't really afford to spend a ton of money on makeup with the wedding a month away- It's not that I have too much stuff. So it's going to be sooo much harder telling myself "no" this afternoon. Fortunately I have about $60 in gift cards and my trusty 15% off coupon, but I'm still afraid of pushy sales ladies.

Here's hoping for the best!!!

That is not a good idea, usually you'll end up buying a lot of stuff you don't need and they will end up lying around in your closet/drawer, a waste of money. Go watch a good movie, or treat yourself a dessert if you really feel the urge to spend

a little down in the dumps today and ready to buy some useless crap. i may even leave work early to go shopping. someone please tell me NO

Agreed. Sad, impulse buys that you make because you're stressed out are the worst. The regret and guilt that you'll inevitably feel are not worth it! Treat yourself to some relaxation time instead. :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

AND if you get something on a whim because you're depressed, every time you look at it or use it, you'll have not just buyer's remorse, but be reminded of feeling crappy.

yoru and ladygrey-- you ladies are right! i love the idea of treating myself to something relaxing :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

calexxia-- i never thought about that. usually when i impulse buy i have buyers remorse, but i definitely did not think about the feeling coming back every time i looked at it.

All of this is such great advice!!! Thanks ladies :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

So I got the sample bag from Ulta today along with my shampoo and conditioner. And woah, seeing the shampoo and conditioner in person, they are definitely worth the 39 each, they are HUGE yay! But the sample bag included:

fekkai advanced salon technician color care 2 oz

pure dkny body butter 1.7 fl oz

philosophy amazing grace 1 fl oz

smashbox o gloss .1 fl oz

boscia daily hydration .33 fl oz

bareminerals purely nourishing moisturizer .17 fl oz

murad acne and wrinkle reducer .125 fl oz

lorac tantalizer .4 fl oz

Urban decay lip junkie in midnight cowboy.12 fl oz

DDF amplifying elixir .5 fl oz

Plus the two little make up bags.

It is cute and there is some good stuff in there, especially since it was free and I was buying things I need! Some of it will be hitting the trade thread for sure, but a lot of it will be getting used up, and helping me to get through this no buy.

The boxes I just got from pancua and souly are going to be better for that though! They were amazing!

i got beauty army today!! it's definitely helping me keep my mind off of buying stuff i dont need

I received my sample kit from One Love Organics yesterday. The samples are cute, but half the size of my Mario Badescu portions. (Same size bottles) I will have to read up on the products, since it doesn't say on the package what they are used for. Today was even more helpful for my no buy--I received two trades and my free Love with Food box. Good timing, too, as I was browsing Birchbox at the time.

After seeing what's in the Rare Beauty kit from Benefit, I'm not even tempted. However, the limited edition release of the Georgia boxed powder is another story. They need to just bring that sucker back for good! I love it and I'm tempted to go ahead and pick up one!

I was bad. I had gone so long...since Mar 31 without buying anything, but I saw UD was on hautelook...and I'd been eyeing the  naked liner travel set for a long time. So I bought it, because they had it for 19 dollars and its still 32 at urbandecay.com. I feel kind of bad...but it is something I've wanted for a while, and it will get used up. Urban decay is my favorite liner brand and I use it every day, and they are all neutral useable colors that I can wear to work.

Justified? Probably not, hahaha.

While I was kinda tempted by some of the Urbanglow stuff, I quickly reminded myself that I have a ton of illuminators waiting to be used up, included my MAC one in shell. I also reminded myself just how guilty I would feel if I bought anything, because it's totally stuff I don't even need.

Yeah I ended up buying more than just the liners. This is my first slip up though, I think I'm the kind of person who will do better on a low buy than a no buy. I've bought $400 of dresses since Friday, lol.

I was bad 2! I used my $40 off @ beauty bar. I used my $25 off dermstore. I used my $10 off beauty.com. And 2 julep mystery boxes. Yikes

Did you have to pay shipping for the sample kit from one love? I was looking at it but the shipping was more than the sample kit

Yay, we sucked another into our group!

Also, I have some excellent news. I decided to enter the Birchbox Tarte lipsurgence blog entry contest, and I just got an entry that I was one of their selected winners. OH. MY. GLOB. I usually never win anything!!
