Also, I have some excellent news. I decided to enter the Birchbox Tarte lipsurgence blog entry contest, and I just got an entry that I was one of their selected winners. OH. MY. GLOB. I usually never win anything!!

Congratulations! I never win anything either but recently I won the CellCeuticals serum and the first GlossyBox.

Oh yes perfumes, those evil yet irresistible goodies, I have like 7 full size designer brands and around 10 dupe roll ons. I use them everyday but I feel like I can never finish them but I wonder how long can they last. My very first perfume is from Hollister and it wend bad within a year which made me sad. Now I keep them in their original boxes and they are good. I just ordered more dupes and maybe I should add that to no-buy too.

Did you have to pay shipping for the sample kit from one love? I was looking at it but the shipping was more than the sample kit

I received my sample kit from One Love Organics yesterday. The samples are cute, but half the size of my Mario Badescu portions. (Same size bottles) I will have to read up on the products, since it doesn't say on the package what they are used for. Today was even more helpful for my no buy--I received two trades and my free Love with Food box. Good timing, too, as I was browsing Birchbox at the time.
I ordered the tiny one for $3.95, no additional shipping cost.

I was bad. I had gone so long...since Mar 31 without buying anything, but I saw UD was on hautelook...and I'd been eyeing the  naked liner travel set for a long time. So I bought it, because they had it for 19 dollars and its still 32 at urbandecay.com. I feel kind of bad...but it is something I've wanted for a while, and it will get used up. Urban decay is my favorite liner brand and I use it every day, and they are all neutral useable colors that I can wear to work.

Justified? Probably not, hahaha.
I ordered the Book of Shadows IV myself. I used credits from referrals, so I am still within my no-buy limits. It will be my first palette from Urban Decay. I use their Primer Potion constantly, but other than that I've only owned one regular and one deluxe eyeshadow--no other Urban Decay products. So I am excited. I also received my first Sample Society box today and I'm next in line for Traveling Box #2. Perhaps I subconsciously picked a month full of packages for my no buy...

I'm getting pulled into buying that as well especially since I wanted it when it first came out.

I keep threatening to go on a no-buy, and I mean it every time. But I think I really have bought my last makeup product for now. If I feel guilty about buying something, I really should not be buying it. I am trying to save a down payment for a house, and every penny counts. I only have one face. How many makeup items can I possibly use before they go bad? I would like to say I will not buy any makeup for 6 months, but I would never make it. So I will pick July 1st as my release date from no-buy prison. Seems just the right mix of reasonable and difficult.

It does take quite a lot of courage to commit no buy! Good luck :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I am 40 days into no buy on cosmetics, I am happy with what I have now and I am planning to continue until I use up something.

It does took me a while to resist the temptation from the UD sale on Haute Look. I really wanted some colorful eyeliners but since MyGlam is sending one out I am pending on that, after all I can live without a colorful eyeliner......

It does take a lot of strength and willpower to do this! I'm on day 20 of not buying any makeup. Once you're really ready to slow down the purchases, it isn't too bad. :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I did just find out that my husband bought me the Georgia powder that Benefit brought back because he knew how much I wanted it, but I told him to hide it from me until I finish one of my blushes. 2 items out of 25 on my project pan have been completed, with number 3 soon to follow!

I just realized it's been 42 days of my no buy and I am going strong! Yay!

Of course, removing all temptation (auto deleting all cosmetic emails) has helped. I had bought enough of my fave shampoo to last a few months so I don't even have to worry about having to go pick more up any time soon, thank the stars.

I am so proud of myself!

That's awesome, you're so close to 2 months! :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> I'm at a measly 20 days, but I'm still pretty pleased with myself, especially considering how badly I failed at it the past few months.

I also decided that once Glossybox opens up subscriptions, I won't be getting one. I'll probably cancel MyGlam and Sindulge after this month, not because I don't like them, but because I'm still feeling really overwhelmed by the amount of beauty products that I do have. I am making a slow dent in my stuff, but not enough of one to make a major impact. I miiiiight do an extra Birchbox in May, and then immediately cancel. So excited about the GG box!

I get that, I ended up canceling  Sample Society today.  I was getting a lot of the same type of products from Birch Box and Beauty Army, I couldn't justify spending an additional $15 so off it went.

There is a ton of overlap between the sample boxes! Birchbox is the only one I have that I've just absolutely fallen in love with and have been consistently wowed by. I might join Julep since they have the option to skip, which is what I do every single month on my Stylemint. But after may, one Birchbox will be more than enough, I think. Glossybox won't be joining me until I've cleared out what I feel is a decent amount of my collection of crap.

We are moving this weekend and I am planning on setting up a better system than I have going on right now. The soda crate idea has long since been overgrown with products and my bathroom counter is a mess.

I made the mistake of walking by the MAC counter today, and they had the Tres Cheek collection in stock. They are GORGEOUS. I really just want to buy all of them....now!

Ok, I have officially decided I'm going to go pick up Modern Mandarin. The color just screams summer to me! Buuuut...I'm not going to pull it out to use until I've hit the 7 product mark.

I don't feel too bad, though. I've used up several items already, a couple more are nearing their end, and I just sent off two boxes of goodies to my mom and my best friend, so I am actually clearing out some space.

Friday is usually the intro to temptation for a weekend full of shopping... Is it just me or does anyone else feel this way?
