here is my sooo ingenious story! well back a couple of months i had to just have platinum blonde hair. so i bought some at home bleach stuff and went at it, well it didnt lift enough so i waited a week and bleached again, well my hair just wouldnt lift past orange, so my mom tried to highlight it to maybe a very light strawberry blonde sorta, well that didnt work. so i just waasted time and money and the health of my hair to just dye it dark brown, and just a week ago i had to dye it again. now ladies herre is where your input would be of great help!

i have talked to stylists, people at sally's and they all say mask, treatments, blah blah blah, and that will help in the long term, but i have been using all sorts of prducts for the past 6 months and my hair hasnt in the slightest become more manageable, softer. it still feels like STRAW when my hair is wet. OMIGOD help me! just to add, i never blowdry my hair EVER. i flat iron maybe 2x a week, maybe.

Once hair is really damaged, there are only a few options. You can't repair damaged hair but you can make it more manageble with emollient products - Neutrogena Triple Moisture shampoo and Deep Recovery Hair Mask.

As well, a good trim every 6 weeks, until the damaged hair is finally cut off.

Have you tried HealthySexyHair? That would probably help as well. They have a Soymilk shampoo and conditioner, as well as a leave in conditioner. Janelle recommended for me to use a Biolage treatment that comes in capsules (I've forgotten the name), which helps with the dry and damaged split-ends.

im getting ready to get a trim , i just need something to make it more softer and easier for the once a week i do flat iron!

You know, be careful about bleaching hair. I had a friend who bleached hers 3 times in one week. Her hair literally FELL OFF like she had undervent kemo

definantly keep up with the leave ins and deep conditioner. trims regularly. have you tried something like bed heaeds after party? it makes hair feel so silky and shiney

nope i havent tried anything by bed head! i have got a few different queen helenes hair masks, ion mask, treatments and other from sallys! just nothing is working! i just bought the VO5 stuff for flat ironing, havent got a chance to use it yet! so we'll see

I know how you feel with the really damged hair, just keep trying the conditioners and keep cutting it!! =)

I've been bleaching my hair myself for over seven years now. Here's a couple of tips:

*massage olive oil into scalp and saturate hair. Put a cap on, and leave it on as long as you can (overnight if possible.) Also, it works great if you can sit under a dryer for a bit. Shampoo at least twice, and then use your normal conditioner.

*Silk Elements MegaSilk Moisturizing Treatment is one of the best products I have ever used. It's available at Sally Beauty Supply.

*I use a little Infusium 23 each day. Another leave-in conditioner would work similarly.

Wow, I really know how you feel. Just don't loose hope. Keep up with a lot of conditioning and DON'T PUT any chemicals on it for a long time!! You just have to be patient!
