Jeez, for years and year Ive tried to get shiny soft hair. Ive always failed. Can anyone recommend me a good product that can make my hair shiny? I also have oily hair. So any product suggestion (shampoo, condition, serum etc.) would help great. Ive never really found a excellent shampoo that gave me volume shine and controlled my oil.

Thanks!!

These natural rinses help reduce a dull appearance on the hair.

Lemon juice

Vinegar

Black Tea

You can also use a little bit of Tea tree oil, or Jasmine oil to increase shine.

Another trick is to blast your hair with the coolest setting on your hair dryer and rub with a velvet cloth. The cold air constricts the hair shaft making it smoother, and a smoother hair shaft means more shine. The velvet is like a polisher. You can buy flat irons with the velvet polisher on them to get the same effect. Only do this on freshly washed and semi dry hair, no products needed.

I think your hair looks really shiny in that avatar of yours. But to add more shine, try to wash you hair with cold water, somehow this does the trick...

Mayo also helps, but since you have oily hair, you can't get it on the scalp or hairline. Have you thought about trying a shine product like Jazzing?

i 2nd the cold water rinse. if you have apple cider vinegar on hand.. you can add a couple tablespoons to big cup of cold water (i use a big gulp cup) and the acidity will help restore your hair's natural ph & shine

You could try a clear gloss dye. Sally Beauty supply carries one called Clairol Professional Radience Moisture Rich Colorgoss in "Clear Shine". You will also need the Color Infusor. Just mix in an even ratio, apply to your hair and let sit for about 20min before shampooing out.

Avoid the Clairol Shine Happy or John Frieda Clear glaze (both at drugstores), because they have received some bad reviews for drying and damaging hair.

your hair looks super shiny already! you got the right color, cause I know black hair has the most shine. So just keep doing what you do, and I think you'll be good

I tried the John Frieda glaze and it did nothing for my hair except make it smell funny.

I found a oil at Sally's that makes my hair super shiny, sort of like Biosilk but under another name which I can't remember right now. I'll check when I get home. I absolutely love it. It has like an aloe vera plant on the front or something.
