Like 10 years ago, my cousin told me about brushing the skin to prevent or to reduce cellulite. I was so afraid of cellulite so I started brushing. After a week, I had 3 red purple veins, wanted to die. Perhaps I didn’t do it gently enough, but I remember that I was gentle. Does skin brushing work for any of you?

By the way, Little Lisa I didn’t know it was the same thing we did years ago

I have them on the inside of my thighs and the very bottom sides of my back/butt/hip area. They're really faint and thankfully are not that noticeable. They were never red/purple, or even pink though. It's just like they were there. Don't know when I got them, don't know how. I would like them to go away, but I suppose they're here to stay.

mine are white too. i got them on my butt, hips, and tits. it sucks, but well thats what happens when you lose 30pounds.

From what I understand there's no way to get rid of stretch marks except time. If they're white then that's a good sign that they're fading. They usually start out a purple color, and over time they'll fade into a more silvery color. I've heard coco butter helps prevent them. My old Chorus teacher got pregnant and caked lotion on her stomach every night to prevent them. I saw her stomach not very long before she had her baby and didn't see any so it must work. :]

What I've repeatedly read and hear is that once they go white, they're there to stay and there's not much you can do, though if you moisturize heavily they might slowly fade. Your best chances to prevent the white stretchmarks are when they're still purple/red, again, by moisturizing with cocoa or shea butter, but even then it's hard.

You can try bio oil to minimize the appearance but as Merunhissa said, they're most likely never going to disappear completely. i have them over the tops of my thighs and they're all silvery/white but they've never actually bothered me. I'm more bothered about the flab on my butt lol!

Has anyone here heard of Strivectin SD? It's one of the only things I've heard of that works for stretch marks. My coworker used it and she had stretch marks from her knees to her armpits and they are significantly diminished. Not gone, but diminished. Hers were more purply though, and now they are more white. So who knows how it would work on white stretch marks. All I know is everyone told her there was nothing she could do and strivectin worked wonders, I just bought a tube for my other B.f.f. for her birthday, hope it works as well for her. Nice thing about the company is they have a 30 money back guarantee on it. strivectin.com

I bought some bio oil can't say if it worked or not because I don't use it faithfully. I will start one day.

I used bio-oil. Cost me £25 (approx). Unfortunately it's not a miracle cure, takes weeks to see any result and only fades them, doesn't rid them. Works better if you've got red/purple marks as you see the results more. White/silver marks are usually already faded stretch-marks so bio-oil doesn't show as effective results, if any. I usually got the red/purple which faded into the white/silver marks over time, it possibly speeded up the fading? As I say, maybe slight results on lighter marks but could have been my imagination?
