My mom told me to never shave my legs or the hair will grow more and thicker LOL...but I did and still do. Its weird though, because my mom never shaved her legs before and it is still hairless and smooth to this day! Maybe I should have listened to her haha.

My mom too but you got hairy genes just like I got. My mom didn't shave her legs either. I have parts that have hair and parts that are hairless. Waxing or epilating will keep hair away longer.

Although my mom and I are very close we never had any skincare/makeup talks and she never gave me any advice. Luckily my grandma was obsessed with all sorts of makeup and home beauty remedies (she used to be a pin-up model back in her younger days!) so she was the one giving me tips. The main one was to avoid the sun like a plague and use the highest SPF possible even in the winter. I'm 28 now and I don't have a single fine line anywhere! I believe it's all thanks to her advice :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

My Mom told me oil your hair regularly, oiling hair help you to relax after a long day and drink lots of water.

My mother always told me that be what you are don't try to change yourself. When you will do something people will said you don't do it and will stop you from doing that. But you know you are doing right then do it don't stop!!!

Wow! Never heard of that. I am going to try it. It sounds cheaper than buying all the facial scrubs on the market today, most of which actually make your face look like a map drawing after a while. Thanks for sharing.

My mum used to make us smear a cut lime under our armpits some 30minutes before bathing. It helps remove adolescent body odour drastically.

I have never heard of this! I have two teenage boys who could use this.

My mom dislikes makeup. There were only a few times I've seen her wear makeup. She told me when I was young that wearing makeup could make my face look older. I got fascinated with makeup as young as 5years old.

Put your shoulders back and stand tall (kind of hard when you're shy and 4'10" when you start 10th grade. Thank goodness for growth spurts, I grew nearly 6" between September and June). Finished HS 5'5", still a bit short, but not embarrassingly so, standing tall and with my shoulders back.
