Ok so here's the thing....I have these little hairs that stand up all over the place!!! It's so annoying and at first I thought it was split ends...btu I'm not sure? A few years back I had such pretty hair and it was actually thick. Well...I went to the salon to have my tailbone length hair cut up tp my collarbone and added layers with highlights. Pretty big change. My stylists suggested that she razor some of the pieces...unsure of what reason btu I agreed to let her do it. After a few days I decided I wasn't too big on teh cut at all because in my opinion it made my hair look a little thin. I love the highlights though!!! But I decided to let it grow out again. So...I never went back to upkeep the style. I just had the ends trimmed every once in a while. Now my theory is that since I didn't go back to her so that she could keep that style in my hair that maybe I have some split ends? I'm really not sure. But I thought maybe it was because she razored it. Ever since then my hair frizzes sometimes and it's because of those silly stubborn little hairs!!! Not to mention it is no longer as thick as it used to be before she cut it. So....does anyone know if these could be split ends ot jsut maybe perhaps flyaway hairs? Or what?!?!?! I hate theM! hahah Is there anyway to tame them??

Hmmm, actally I have like theee exact same problem. I just got it recently tho. I went to get my hair 'trimmed' and now its at my shoulders. Idk whats with hairstyle people these days but they apparently dont listen. Now I have these hairs that just dont belong and stick up, and they suckkk, i've just been putting some defrizzer on the top of my head and trying to flatten the hair into form i guess you could say... its not working. I'm always in the bathroom putting water in my hair, so if you find the asnwer be sure to let me know.

Mine have went down but they have never fully disappeared. But..I do know a few things that may help out? Uhm...for me I just use a flat iron and it works really well. I'm thinking abotu getting a ceramic one. I know those are mroe expensive but so much better in teh long run. Also....I have started taking Biotin vitamins and it has helped me out some with them. Maybe check into that. I actually started a new thread about them in this forum.

Are you talking about the little hairs on top of your head? Usually that is regrowth that is too short to do anything else but stand straight up. lol You might have been losing more hair due to breakage from lack of trims, and then seeing more regrowth of that hair than usual. Irons and other heat tools will cause damage and breakage. Extended use without regular trims will lead to split ends. I usually just use Static Guard on a brush and comb through to get rid of static and flyaways. Those little hairs usually need a pomade or texture putty.

I've had short hairs like that my whole life! lol My hair is very fine so it breaks off easy, so I've always got short hairs that have broken off and are trying to grow back... You know all those hairs that come out in the shower or when you comb your hair? They've got to grow back sometime! lol A good anti-frizz cream or serum can help (I like L'Oreal Hot Straight, even though it claims to be just a heat-protectant it also works as a anti-frizz product!), and I also like to spritz a bit of flexible-hold hairspray along my part to keep the hairs down without making hair crunchy!

Matter of fact...it's not on the first like 3 inches of my hair. However I do have those lil pesky things too!!!

But these are just hairs that like poke up all over the place??? I don't know how to make sense of it. But its like lil hairs that are trying to flip out juts all over the hair? They have started to get better over time....but they're still there. It's so annoying!!!

Those little hairs are flyaways. They are a signal that the hair is not being conditioned enough. They may occur due to breakage, stress of handling, or a growing out phase. Make sure the ends of those hairs are a little bit wieghed down with a conditioning agent. Pomade and other waxes will only make it worse. Also, avoid those hair products with a high alcohol content. This worked for me, maybe it might help you out.

I heard it dries hair out pretty bad. Thanks for the info!

Yeah, any thing that is moisturizing (not greasy) for the hair. Try out a bunch of stuff, there will definitely be some products that your hair will "like" better than others. Sometimes a leave-in can get kind of greasy and build up, so once I found one that doesn't, I just stick with it. One that I like to use is the Alberto's V05 Leave-in Conditioning Spray. I like to just kind of mist it on (not douse it) lightly once a day.

Also, my flyaways were cured instantly once I started wrapping my head in a silk scarf at bedtime. When you get up, you won't have hair that suffered from nighttime friction, and you'll solve most of your bed head problems. I have't had a bad hair day for two years since I started doing this.

Old post but I had to *bump* it!!!

All along my hair part (when I part in the middle or on the side) are 1" long hairs sticking up. I usually wear my hair curly and have never noticed them, but now that I've been straightening it (cos my hairdresser screwed up my hair!!) I see all those short hairs sticking right up! I have thick, coarse strands and they are very noticeable! It's quite ugly

I know my hair is pretty damaged...so I'm not surprised I have these. Is there any fix for this???? Thanks....
