This is what I have gotten in the last couple of days.

I got a bunch of packets from MenScience for my husband. Also got a few from Restorsea.

The top this is from b.liv and it was a link I used a while ago. Then I got some stuff from Melvita and some nice stuff from Babor. They sent me some foundation samples cause I asked for them, so if there is anyone who is looking for makeup samples, they send some.
Nice! I think it's interesting that Restorsea sent you several packets, they just sent me one in a giant envelope that seemed like it would have cost more to send than one foil packet would be worth to them....

This is what arrived today. I also got replies from Lancer (yes), Mrs. Meyers (yes), Xtend Life (yes), and Kate Sommerville (no), as well as some follow up emails. This is going very well! :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

This is a picture of about one weeks worth of samples that have arrived.

Stuff is still trickling in :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> The foils are from Suki. I love their Foaming Face Scrub so I asked to try the rest of their line. The little jar is from Taun. It is a men's grooming company and it came in that cute little box!
I got a no from suki. They want me to buy a $80 travel set!

I also got a no from suki. I will add that Red Flower has amazing customer service. I see myself ordering stuff for my new house

Same here! Very disappointing as I keep wanting to try their stuff, but I don't have that kind of money to spend just for trying something out.

And the sample thing totally does good for the companies, I think--those of us who care enough to send out these emails also care enough to actually purchase the products we like! I just bought a full size of skyn iceland face wash and I want to buy the cloud cream as well...never would have done that if I hadn't gotten the samples!

They have a foil pack sample bag for sale for like $10. I initially got a no, but then I got an email saying that they would send me some. Weird!

Yes, I completely agree with you.  I ask for samples and if I like something I will buy it.    I like supporting companies that care and don't mind sending out some products for me to test out.  I loved one of the samples I received from Acure (the face scrub) and can't wait to buy it once I use up what I have.  Also, I just used that cloud cream from skyn iceland for the first time today.  It has such a nice texture.  I haven't used the face wash yet but plan on using it tonight.

Exactly! It's good (potential) customer service and good advertising. Especially as us beauty afficionados are also the type likely to talk to other people about products we love. Regarding the face wash, a lot of the reviews said they didn't like the "squeaky clean" feeling--but that is exactly why I love it so much, it feels like it's really worked! In combination with the cloud cream, it makes my skin feel absolutely amazing.

I found a couple of favorites too. They are all going on a list of must haves! I love the Suki lemon face scrub, the pumpkin mask from glo - professionals, a lot of the makeup from Jane Iredale (especially the lip and cheek tint and the loose foundation) and I really like the detox face mask from Malin + Goetz. I never heard of most of these brands until I received samples from them. There are a lot I like and a few I love, and the one's I love will be purchased once I need them. So its good for the companies and they get business from word of mouth too! It's a win, win.

This makes me wish I'd been able to get samples from glo - professionals! They just told me that I could go to a local retailer to try their products, and the one they suggested was a sketchy "weight loss and aesthetics" place that's like an hour from where I live....no thanks.

For me it's #1 getting to try a brand I never would have before (I don't go to spas or small boutiques... I have a 2 year old...) and #2 getting a taste of the amazing customer service from some of these places. Red Flower and VMV Hypoallergenics are high on my list of amazing customer service. A few others were great as well. Yea... I could go to Bath and Body Works for candles and body wash... or I could support a business that has people who really care about you.

Boo! They had some good stuff :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Ok so I have heard from everybody except....

Babor (sent) Original Sprout (sent) Nature's Gate (sent) Elemental Herbology (sent) Zirth (sent) L'Occitane (sent) Beauty Society (sent) Oribe (sent) Skyn Iceland (sent) Koh Gen Do (sent) studio gear cc cream (sent) N4 (sent) Dermadoctor (sent)   I wonder how many more emails I will get tomorrow. :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I forgot about VMV. I love their blush and their BB cream. Did you get your samples from them yet?

Not yet. I sent my reply with all of my info on the 25th but I have not heard back. I'm not sure if I will... or if they are just making them now. :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I didn't know I had to go back to their website to see a response, so I thought they hadn't answered me, but I just saw that they did...2 weeks ago. Oops! So I just answered with all of my info, and hopefully we both get awesome samples in our mailboxes soon :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Yea it took me a few days. I emailed on the 18th and they responded on the 19th. I wrote back on the 25th. I didn't know I had to check back either.

I got a yes from Macadamia! I wrote up a little hair history/bio and am sending it out to haircare companies, and I think that's what did the trick. I'm on the hunt for a real grown-up haircare regimen not cobbled together from subscription boxes, and I'm starting by sending out a lot of requests for samples. I grew up in a Suave-using house, and I used bar soap for years when my hair was kept in a pixie and getting bleached to hell every four weeks, but I want something *fancy* now that I'm creeping up on the answer to life, the universe, and everything.

I think samples are perfect for finding new beauty routines! Otherwise you'd have a lot of expensive trial and error. I'm focusing on finding my perfect skincare regimen right now, because who doesn't want beautiful glowing skin? But my hair routine could definitely use an update, too....
