Hi - I am Indian too - I used to wax before in college and it was definitely better for our type of hair as opposed to shaving or using a depilitory. BUT - if your skin is sensitive, don't bother with wax or depilitories. Threading is the way to go. I finally caved in and am getting laser treatments- I have almost no hair now on my upperlip or chin. It is quite expensive though. Another thing, waxing over and over gets your skin used to it and the redness and irritation may stop. I now epilate big areas like legs and underarms and barely have to shave.

The first waxing I've ever done was a brazilian. The girl that did the waxing thought I was crazy for trying that first. I have a pretty high tolerance for pain, so it didn't really hurt. I want to try waxing my legs, but I don't really have a problem shaving, so I don't feel like spending the money for it. I get my eyebrows threaded though. I think waxing would be too harsh on my face.

GeeBers is right. Look into laser if you can afford the treatments. When you think of how much you'll save on waxing, shaving ect it really is worth it. Just make sure you do your research and go to a place that has the correct laser for your skin. I have a friend from India who is having the treatments now. She goes to American Laser Centers, but doesn't know what type of laser. I've read some bad reviews on this company, but it was from a website sponsered by their competition.

Just do your research before you invest in anything.

if threading is working for you i wouldn't mess with waxing, especially on your face. i've tried waxing many areas of my face and it never turns out well. i end up with ingrowns and serious bumping. i really need to find someone that can thread!
