Hi! Sorry to butt in but I've no idea where to post my question. But since I've been wanting to dye my hair as well, thought I'd ask here

I have really black asian hair, I've never colored it before so it's practically a virgin to dyes, etc. I want to change my hair color to a gorgeous medium brown (no red's and yellow tones), tho not too light. What shade of dye should I get to lighten it? Dark blonde or dark ash? (I think light blonde will give it a brown/yellow-ish hue).
Btw, I'm going to have it dye'd by a prof but i'll be the one to buy the hair dye /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Well, the bleach is what will lighten it, not the color itself... It's hard to determine what color you would need without seeing your hair and seeing the result of the lightening. Honestly I wouldn't get something beforehand... I'd see what your salon has. I don't know how light the colorist will go, or what your shade will be as a result. So your best bet is to pick your color after the lightening.
