I wear what I like because it makes me happy, I don't really care if other people like it or not, as long as I like it.

I think guys tend to favor warm exotics like you mention and I bet they are just too shy to say so. I think people that know you are probably only going to comment/compliment a new fragrance. So, if they are familiar with yours, no remarks. If you have a coworker or friend that you have rapport with, ask if they notice your fragrance. It may be so lightly applied that they haven't. Ask if you wear too much, that gives people a chance to say if it is so without risking offending you. (My guess is that this is not the case, but I don't mind fishing for a compliment and that is a good way to do it!)

I love florals, but they don't do much for my husband, so I've tried to branch out. I still wear my girly florals occasionally, but not nearly as much.

You guys are right. I'm sticking with what I love!:icon_love Magazines probably suggest changing fragrances so you'll just buy more products.

Yeah, and everytime you turn around there's a new "in" perfume. Even if it's terrible, people all seem to want it - I guess because of the name or something... or else it smells like something else already out there. Like that new Guess perfume, it smells EXACTLY like Clinique Happy - which has been around for a long time. Now everyone is bumrushing around out here to get it... it's like "helloooooo.... Happy has been out - why all of a sudden is it soooo wonderful?? Because it says Guess instead of Clinique??" lol I have 3 favorites ... that I usually get complimented on. Ralph Lauren Blue (#1 fav) Philosophy's Pure Grace (#2 fav) and Jovan White Musk (#3 fav) I don't like scents that are too overpowering or too strong. I like more of a clean smelling one that you have to keep smelling because you just can't get enough! ;) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> lol

I agree, I think magazines receive $$ for plugging their products! And I don't that I would go up to a complete stranger and say 'Mm. You smell nice." Just seems kind of odd to me. I would say that to a friend or an acquaintance, though. I have a few perfumes that I love, but I don't get a lot of compliments on any of them, but I don't care, I wear them more for myself, they make me feel pretty. :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> Plus, I am terrified of perfume overload, so I only spritz my neck and chest, and then get dressed, so you can't really smell it through my clothes. I only have several, but I like all of them...

Hollister August

Clinique Happy Heart

D&G Light Blue

Lucky Brand Lucky You

Marc Jacobs EDT

Burberry Weekend

Gap So Pink

I think all of them are similar fragrances, warm woody florals, except Marc Jacobs (very sophisticated to me) and So Pink (summery grapefruit)

Oh, yah think??? :icon_rollEverytime I get an issue of Allure or Lucky, there is a scent that I want to rush out and get. Usually it costs $100 plus and can't be tried on because noone here in Kansas City handles it. I spent $6 on a sample of one on eBay and it was a good lesson for me. It was OK, pleasant, but certainly not exceptional and to read about it, you would have thought it cured cancer. I can't even WEAR fragrance to work, daggummit. :icon_frow

For the past few years (maybe 2) I have been wearing Apothia If. I got a sample of if with an order form apothia.com and I did not like it the first time I tried it. But I thought I would give it another chance and it started to grow on me. Now it is my primary frangrance. However I always use frangrant lotions, soap, and shower gels so the combination changes. I have got plenty complements from guys and gals with this scent. I have also got complements when I have worn Angel by Thierry Mugler with Burt Bee's Milk and Honey lotion. I hardly every layer the same fragrance. I try to aim for the same family though.

You make a good point! Perfume's scent changes depending on what you used with it. I use a lot of Lush hair and body products and they have very distinctive, lasting scents. Add perfume on top of that, and you get a new scent each time! I agree, stay in the same family...like I gravitate towards the more exotic scents. But it is fun to switch it up and layer different things. So if I had to say I had a signature scent, it wouldn't be a brand name of any one perfume or product. Rather a general vibe I try to convey. Does that even make sense?!? :icon_lol:
