Hi lowrah,
Sephora is not currently affiliated with any monthly beauty sampling services. As far as authenticity goes, we wouldn't be able to speak to that. I would try reaching out to the company directly and doing a little research online to see what other people are saying.
Whimsically yours,
Janine
My suggestion to Gina is to the following:
- Apologize to the ladies whose person home addresses were sent out in those file attachments. I'm not an attorney but I do think those two ladies could EASILY contact attorneys to see if any Federal privacy and/or consumer rights laws were violated. As I mentioned one lady's address was scratched out but completely visible while the other's address was not scratched out.
- Work with us not against against us. Dermstore's Beautyfix offered our members a discount, Conscious Box offered members a free box, etc, etc. There are so many things that you (Gina) can do to promote good will instead of making threats.
- Don't think we're out to destroy your company. I mentioned before our site is indeed monitored by other companies - I've personally been to MyGlam's offices. I know Beauty Army, Conscious Box, Birchbox, The Look Bag and other companies watch these threads to help their company improve and to have an idea of what consumers are looking for. We're not out to destroy someone's company, we have no personal vendetta against you or your company. Things didn't look kosher to many of our members who had and still have questions. Deleting your own posts, pictures and videos makes us wonder what are you hiding?
- Don't jump to conclusions. The original post in this thread had NOTHING to do with your company, it was started because the main subscription thread (which is a list of other beauty box companies and other subscription services) was being "hijacked" with talk about Posh Pods. That member felt that a new thread would be better instead of continuing to discuss Posh Pod in that thread.
- Post here. We're more than welcome to hear from you directly rather than through pseudo-threats. We won't bite. We would absolutely LOVE to hear from you directly in these posts. If you have ANY questions that you want to ask our members then ask us here. It goes back to don't jump to conclusions.
If you want your company to succeed then you need to stop going about things the wrong way which is what I think you're doing with the threats. You're right that Google does pick up things and your own actions will also come up. Do you think people are going to want to subscribe to your company if they find out that you're threatening people because they're questioning your company? The vast majority of active members in these groups LOVE beauty box companies - LOVE them - most of us have three or more active subscriptions and talk about our products and experiences. Like I wrote, I know that other companies monitor our groups because we're so vocal. If one member here ends up LOVING the products sent by you then other members will possibly think "OMG... that box looks fantastic! I want it!" BUT do you think your actions towards us will make us want to try your company? Of course not.
So Gina... sign up for a MUT account and join us to discuss your company. We would LOVE to hear from you directly but please leave the threats at the door because the second you threaten someone is the second no one is going to take you seriously.
