Absolutely!!! Suncreen is a must year round. I use 35 on my face no matter what. I know so many women that spend hundreds of dollars on anti-aging skin care and never wear sunscreen on their face, especially in the winter! Crazy, huh?

yeah, lol.

it's funny because in summer i put a spf 60 but in winter i just forget to put a sunscreen even though i know i should.:kopfkratz:

Wearing suncreen is a good idea 365 days a year. Being hot outside has nothing to do with damaging UV rays. They are always there in cloud and in the sun in cold and hot weather. It's good to wear at least spf 15 everyday. whether it be in liquid makeup or a moistuizer suncreen. Remember powder cannot fully claim that they ahve an spf 15 unles it states so on the package or is recognizer by the american or canadian dermatology association. don't forget to protect your lips.

I've been reading about sunscreen blocking the vitamin D production that natural sunlight produces when it hits our skin? I'm so confused.. I always wear sunscreen through the summer but I'm not sure what to do anymore. x

Thats a yes!

I believe the amount of exposure required for the formation of Vit D is nominal.

A sunscreen with spf 15 have to be applied every hour. The sun makes it decipitate (wear down), when you are exposed to the sun. A sunscreen with an spf of 30 or 60 needs to be applied every 2 hours. Being a higher level means that it wears down less quick that the spf 15. And the spf 30's or higher are total block creams. So they offer a better protection. another thing when buying sunscreen> Stick to good brands: la roche posay, biotherm loreal, vichy dont' buy cheap ones like hawaiann tropic or banana boat. when it comes to your skin and protection buy the better ones.

yes its true that vitamin d cannot be absorbed through sunscreen. but if your drinnking milk or taking supplements your fine and eating your proper fruits and veggies.. Don't depend fully on the sun for vitamin D you'll be sorry.

Yes I do eat a really good diet and always drink water and milk lol! I use a cheap sunscreen for sensitive skin.. I find it hard to find products that work for my skin since its extremely sensitive (I have mild rosacea/redness) so should I go for a more expensive brand? thanks x

a great one for your sensitive skin would be la roche posay anthelios 30 60 or 45 anthelios milk. La roche is not available in the US yet. it's available in europe and canada. You can also try Avene suncreen products. I believe those are available inthe US. thye are both great for sensitive skin. Cosmetic products that would be good fro your rosacea prone skin are cover FX cosmeticeutical products.I think they might be available in the states. Happy Shopping

Hi Katie, :wavey:

Sunscreen should be worn when it's sunny or hazy outside even if it's cold outside. We just need to get into the habit of wearing sunscreen year-round.

i've heard good things about la roche posay anthelios (and posthelios too btw). i think i'm going to buy some.
