My 9 year old daughter's hair gets bleached from dark blonde to very light blonde in the summer. It's shoulder length. Should I be doing anything to take special care of it? She usually just uses whatever shampoo and conditioner I am, currently Sunsilk for frizzy hair.

is sunbleach considered coloring, though? hmm...

good question! i'd like to know, too.

My oldest daughter's hair lighten's up a lot in the summer I just use a good shampoo, conditioner, and a leave in treatment on her. If you want to prevent the sun from lightening her hair you could always have her wear a hat in the sun.

I'm not saying sunbleached is coloured...........I'm saying that shampoo for colour treated hair has sunscreen in it to protect your colour.....so I would imagine the sunscreen in it would protect anyones hair, stop the bleaching from getting worse, maybe use it next year before it starts to bleach out.Does this make sense?

I don't know if I want to stop the lightening, though.. unless it's damaging her hair? It's such a pretty color... but I didn't really think about how it could be damaging it. I just wasn't sure if we should be conditioning it more than we already are, or if I should be treating it like color treated hair.
