On the pricier side, but Nars Purifying Soap is what I use...I hear their other cleansers are great but haven't tried them...yet

Since you have oily/acne-prone skin, I would suggest Klear Action face cleanser, similar ingredients to Proactiv, works better and it is cheaper...You can find it from drugstore.com or walgreens.

For evenings (to remove makeup) I use either Neutrogena Pure Glow or Deep Clean cleansing pads. i second that! or you could use the neutrogena oil-free acne wash, if u have any acne, it's suppose to b a bit drying for dry skin, but since u have oily/acne prone skin i'd recommend it =P, i use neutrogena too

i went with the neutrogena oil free acne foaming cleanser..and whoa..my skin has cleared up A LOT in the past few weeks. i don't want to get my hopes up for clear skin, but i am excited..this is progress. thanks a lot for the recs. i'm really loving neutrogena. i really feel like i underestimated their products.

1.) aveeno positively radiant facial scrub

(something decent if you are trying to conserve money)

2.) juara skincare's rice facial cleanser

(if you are looking to invest in something more long term

I think that anything made by Neutrogena is going to work wonders for your skin. I have their Pore Refining facewash and love it because it exfoliates the dead skin. It also washes away cleanly with no residue left over. In the past, I have also loved the foaming facewash (orange with see-through bottle) and their moisturizers.

I love Dove Sensitive Beauty Bar to wash my face. It reminds me of Cliniques extra mild soap but better as it has 1/4 moisturisers in it so it's not squeaky and stripped like with the Clinique!

If you're interested in doing an olive oil cleanser, this is what a woman posted on a msg board:

olive oil + Polysorbate 80

"polysorbate 80 is better than polysorbate 20, while you need shake the mixture before use for polysorbate is deposit"

"at least 10% Polysorbate 80 or you may feel too oily after rinse , my prefer ratio is 7:2.5 (olive oil & Polysorbate 80)"

"all your preprocess is just pouring them together in one bottle - shake to mix oil and polysorbate before using"

My other suggestion is: C&C Sensitive Skin Foaming Facial Cleanser. It needs to be the sensitive skin cleanser from this line. My DH has oil, acne-prone skin & I had him start using this. He commented (remember now, this is a guy!) that he noticed an improvement in his skin once he started using this cleanser. Granted he was using any ole bar of soap before I advised him differently.

I've been using st. ives. invigorating apricot scrub. I love it cuz it exfoliates my face and takes off all my makeup so i feel really clean afterwards. Now they make the apricot scrubs for certain skin types like oily or dry. it's really cheap, like around $4 and was rated as one of the best drugstore face scrubs by allure magazine!

1. Almay's skincare line

2. Acne-Free (Proactiv's knock-offs)

Thanks girls. i'm really openn to anything.

Hi,

Like Neutrogena cleansers as well. I have used skin clearing foaming cleanser when I have some breakouts. This cleanser contains Salicylic Acid (BHA) to clean the pores. Now using Neutrogena extra-gentle cleanser. It is a milk cleanser that do not leave residue after rinsing. However, a friend of mine who has oil skin find this cleanser makes her face oily. For me, it's perfect.
