Stated or retail value is such a tricky thing - I think worth is often in the eye of the beholder, as they say. I'm not too into makeup, but I know people who'll spend $50 on an eye shadow palette, and I think "um, you could buy that at Target for $9.99", but it's the brand. To those people, paying $50 for that brand is worth it. Not many people (that I recall) complained about the retail value of the Brokedown scarf because they loved it, and thus were happy to get such an expensive item, but in reverse, a lot of people complained about the watch (I hated it, too) or the wrap (I actually loved it) because the perceived value to them was less because they didn't like it. Not trying to argue (at all!), just saying, it's hard to know what is "worth the money" to different people. I loved the last luxury box, most people did not. But if you sent me $100 in fancy makeup, I'd be like, what a rip off!

Well said!

Hmmm...what to do, what to do. I also loved my luxury box. I've used every item except the purse, but I only go to one fancy party a year and that happened before I got my box or I would have.

I canceled the monthly box...so it would be fun to get this mid-May. I have a feeling that I will cave very soon, lol. Like someone else said, no self control.

When you search this comes up. Why would it say "already sold out" when it's clearly not. If its a marketing strategy it totally worked on me!!!

I was tempted but decided to pass. I bought the Luxury Box and was so disappointed. I could understand paying $50 or $60 dollars for it, but NOT $100. I just couldn't risk paying that much again and being bummed out. Instead I decided to splurge and bought a Glossybox, the new FabFitFun box AND the Coco Rocha Fancy Box. All that equals $17.06 LESS than the PopSugar Summer Box. Once I added it all up I figured all that would definitely be better than risking $100 on just 1 box. Hopefully it'll be amazing and you guys will love it. But I just couldn't take that risk again. I look forward to seeing what you get. Good luck!!

I'm guessing it'll likely be around the same price range as their luxury boxes.... hopefully lower

Because I bought my BF (who is a self proclaimed nerd/gamer) LootCrate for his birthday.  He LOVES it.  But it's certainly for that section of folks who like games and such.  Have you checked out http://www.mysubscriptionaddiction.com/mens?
And a particular section! I'm pretty nerdy, but I don't want the stuff in the crate! XD I am more a J-RPG/anime loving nerd female, so it isn't the target audience. :( /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

That makes it sound so appealing!   Does anyone know when this would be expected...I don't want it to come when I am on vacation.

Not sure exact date, but I recall seeing it will be shipped in May.

"Mid-May"...not that it would be terrible to come on vacation unless it would be left at your doorstep. Then stealing it is a legitimate concern. Otherwise, sounds like a nice vacation hangover pick me up to me. :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Hmm, just got the PS email about referring subscribers. The top few people who refer to PSMH get a free box...seems a little desperate to me. Maybe they're not getting the number of subs that they had hoped?

I dunno, that sounds like a regular thing to me. A lot of the subs do those sorts of promos.

I thought PopSugar hadn't had a referral program yet at all, but upon further investigation I am very wrong. One month free when two friends join? That's actually a pretty great setup! So yes, you're right, no desperate pleas. I do wonder how many they have available and how many have been purchased, just out of curiosity.

Anyway...I wish the contest wasn't "whoever refers the most" because I automatically check out at that point. I know I won't refer the MOST, so why even try? If it was a drawing for anyone who had referred two or more people or something, then I'd be way more into it/optimistic.

I totally agree. I don't like those "most" things either. To me it feels like it should be randomly picked out of people who refer at least one person! More fair that way, imho. the other way just comes across as a popularity contest to me.

Some MUT members were doing some extensive research on FabFitFun yesterday and bumped into some information on the founder and his media company: http://meetcharlie.com/

If you go to the list of clients, PopSugar is listed. So is Jewelmint, StyleMint and all the other Mints...including the upcoming BEACHMINT! http://www.beachmint.com/index.html

Bet that will be in this box..... I am out!

Correction : BeachMint is the parent company. So much for my theory!

What do you mean by "upcoming"? As far as I was aware, Beachmint is the parent company of all of the *mints, not a new segment.

I stand corrected - was just checking the dates on the press releases.
