Got my box last night and I’ve had time to think it over. If I’m honest, I am still a bit disappointed overall. This is my first real experience being disappointed with any of the Popsugar boxes, but here are my initial thoughts:

·       Henri Bendel Candle in Wild Roseberry – I don’t like fruity scents for home so I was hoping not to get this one. Regardless, the candle is packaged lovely and I know the quality is there so this will always make a great gift. I understand that they can’t know everyone’s scent preferences on these things so I don’t hold it against them.

·       HOH Sunglasses in Lynn Fog (Grey Aviators) – I did want the aviators and I was initially excited about this color but I tried them on and I am not loving them. The shape doesn’t work with my face and the lenses are purple-hued. I am hoping to sell these.

·       Vitabath Scrub – this brand does not say luxury to me at all. Quite frankly my 80+ year old grandma has used this brand for years and she’s not necessarily on the up and up beauty wise. The idea of a scrub is a good one, I just feel like they got this brand at a huge discount and included it in the box for that reason only, not because they truly feel it’s a must-have.

·       S’Well Water Bottle in Pink – it sounds innovative and useful but it’s certainly not very exciting. Why this needs to be $35 is a bit beyond me as it is just a water bottle, albeit a very nice one.

·       Truffle Pouch – don’t understand this at all. Echoing others, the look is akin to a clear pencil pouch that I could get for less than $5. I don’t know about many of you, but I don’t change my purses every day (and I don’t know any woman who does) so I don’t understand why I’d need this pouch to go from purse-to-purse. That and it’s massive in size and won’t fit in any of my everyday bags anyway. As with the above item, I have no idea why this warrants a $35+ price tag.

·       Starbucks Refreshers - I am happy with this as I love the idea and I wouldn’t typically by this for myself. Strangely, I didn’t see this listed on the booklet, so this must be considered an “extraâ€.

·       Sarong – this is actually quite pretty. Being in California and close to the beach, I can see myself getting some use out of this. To play devil’s advocate though, is it wrong that I am almost offended at the inclusion of this item for everyone who lives elsewhere in the country (ie: not near the beach)? Call me crazy but not everyone has the luxury of being near a beach or close to water to wear this sarong so I am not sure how much use this will get from a wide-range of people. It just seems a bit presumptuous to me.

Value-wise, I don’t think it’s worth the $100 I spent because I am not sure how much I’ll use any of these items. You win some, you lose some but I’m sure I’ll sign up for the next luxury box.

You don't have to live near a beach to wear a sarong.  People have pools, live near lakes/rivers/bays/sounds for boating and other water activities.  And you can even wear it as a scarf!

I'm just kind of amazed at how many people are complaining and disappointed already. If you're that picky about the items in the boxes, take the money you would spend, and buy things you love. Yeesh, it's like people are never satisfied...

As I said, I am happy with the sarong and will get my use out of it. I understand your point but I was just trying to think of how others might feel if they don't do the pool/lake/etc. route during the summer either. I suppose though that's their choice. I understand where Popsugar is coming from too, you certainly cannot please everyone and this is more exciting than a beach towel.

And what about all the vampires who can't wear sunglasses?!??!?! Who will speak for those who cannot encounter the sun?!?! ;) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> It looks like a good box, seriously, but I'm okay that I skipped it.

Since everyone's tastes are different, I understand the challenge they have in putting together a box that would best appeal to 'everyone' but I still feel we should be allowed to discuss our opinions on the box regardless of whether we are 100% satisfied or not. I wasn't trying to be overly negative with my post but since this was one of my first disappointments with a Popsugar box, I gave my 2 cents. I'll still look forward to many more Popsugar boxes down the road.

Got my box today. Here are the variations I got
Water bottle in silver Candle in lilac scent House of Harlow sunglasses - Lynn Fog

That's the candle scent I want! Fingers crossed...

I just checked my tracking and it looks like mine will be delivered on Thursday!

It's sad how excited I get these days when something ships in a reasonable amount of time. I ordered from a store Sunday, it shipped Monday and will be here tomorrow! I'm so used to ordering something, waiting weeks at a time for it to finally ship, and then taking a week and a half to get to me. This is 2013...speed it up jerks!

Heck, yeah! Amazon Prime rocks my world!

I think it's great being able to voice our opinions about the contents of the boxes, since I can confirm that most sub box companies have people that lurk around forums. It's just SO early on in the box delivery process that it seems like people get all riled up, even before they have their boxes in hand.

The only thing I was disappointed to see was the sunglasses were from spring 2012 I feel like the most expensive item in the box was overstocks from a year ago.

Really really hoping I get a teal water bottle now!

Teal water bottle, vanilla candle and aviators would make me extremely happy. But we'll see. Mine isn't supposed to get here until a couple days from now.

I can't tell you how old my sunglasses are, maybe six years old or MORE?  Sunglasses from 2012 are a vast improvement from the ones I've been rocking for a while. I'll take them, even if they're from "ohmygawd" 2012.

Yeah it's pretty hard to do a "Summer Fun" box without  at least one or some sort of "water" theme item.

Woot!  DEAL.  I hope you get what you want though.  I'm not unhappy with vanilla but my husband loves the jasmine scent.  He complains when I burn something else.
