Spiral Iron VS Regular Iron

I have a cheap mary kate and ashley spiral iron and i knew i needed a better one so i bought an expensive hot tools tourmaline curling iron and i almost think i like my mk&a one better! i like the curls i get with the spiral iron, and they stayed longer than with the tourmaline one..odd.

which do you prefer, the regular barrel or the spiral?

also does anyone buy irons from the brand hot tools? what do you think of them?

I've never used a spiral barrel one, although I am interested in trying one. I'm interested to see other people's opinions.

I had the Mary Kate & Ashley spiral iron, but I never could really get the hang of it. I always thought it was easier for me to use a regular iron. I'm sure if I would have given it the time and learn how to use the spiral then I would have liked it, but I got impatient with it.
