i'm glad the new bar is working for you, nessa! i'm sure dove is just like that because it's the summer and all. thanks for the update! i wonder if i could find this here in the states?

becky, hope your skin stops acting up!

guessssssssssss what?!

i washed my face with dove for the first time in about 2 days (i've been so lazy, so i just used water) last night and guess what? i actually have oily skin! i've never had oily skin! i think dove's doing the same thing it's doing to you, nessa! i guess it IS too creamy/rich for the summer!

hm now that you´re mentioning it my skin has been a lot more oily too lately. I guess I will go back to using Citaphil gel cleanser for now then. I love my dove soap though

I like Desert Essence Thoroughly Clean face wash with organic tea tree oil.

It's inexpensive and really mild and great for oily and acne prone skin, but won't dry it out. I used it when my skin acted up before I switched to Organic Complexion. I like the fact that it's natural and not full of chemicals which can be absorbed into your skin.

OMG Jen and Andi!! I knew it was the Dove! I've been using it the past 2 days to test just how my skin reacts once it was all clear and my skin is so oily it's untrue!

I think that even though it feels quite creamy it really is drying out skin out without noticing it as it is quite creamy and maybe it's not as noticeable that it is being dried out and therefore we're producing more oil??

I guess I'm on the hunt for a good cleanser again then!

I think I'm going to try Boots No.7 range. They have a Gentle Gel Cleanser which I might try for a while!

Or if anyone knows of a good range that will keep my skin clear and get it back to normal?

Anyone tried the Nivea Visage Young Cleanser?

Sorry the bars making all of your skin so oily

Vanessa have you tried goin to holland and barretts or somewhere like that? once iv finished using up my simple bar im gonna see if they sell anything like a bar with olive oil or something in it.

I've just picked up a Neutrogena Facial Cleansing Bar. It's detergent, dye and fragrance free and hopefully should keep my skin clear and not make it oily. If that fails then I'm going to have to try a regular cleansing gel or something!

i've never tried that, although the gel by nivea gel worked well for me when i was in europe and my skin was oily! i just stopped using it because my skin's not oily.

thanks for letting us know!

I bought the original bar that has the fragrance in it. I find it's been much better (it has salicylic acide and Benzoyl alcohol in it for spots and oil etc) and it's stopped my skin from being oily and has cleared my spots up. I bought some Dermalogica before trying the Dove original and I have to say that the Dove is better. The Dermalogica broke me out although it did stop me from producing oil so much!

Thanks Aquilah!! I've noticed over the last few days that I've had much less breakouts and hardly any oily patches thank goodness!
