Well, all of the people on here convinced me to finally buy a CHI (I got $30 off on sale!!). Well I was very eager to try it out on my thick, coarse, and curly hair, and I did my normal routine to get ready to straighten it. That is, I use John Freida's Straight Ahead shampoo and Conditioner when in the shower. Then I let it air dry a bit, section it off, and blow dry the sections straight(ish). Once I was sure my hair was dry, I started with the new CHI stuff. I used the CHI 44 Iron Guard to protect my hair, and then I straightened the sections. When I was done, I put some shine stuff and anti-frizz/holding stuff in my hair. The process all together took me an hour and fifteen minutes. The problem is, It used to take me and hour with my old fifteen dollar Revlon straightener, and it was mostly straight, but poofy. The CHI straightener made my hair the same as the Revlon one, but it only lasted about an hour until it started to get wavy. Something to note is it was humid out, but I would have expected more out of the CHI, especially when my Revlon stands up to the weather better. My question is, did I do something wrong in my straightening process, or should I just give up on my CHI straightener and return it because I don't want to waste that much money on something that doesn't work.
Sorry this is so long and I probably included irrelevant info, but I hope you can help.
