My order from Thursday just came in, including the suspense bag.

It contained:

- Lancome Tresor perfume sample (I just gave one of these away to my mom yesterday)

- Escada Cherry in the Air 

- Korres Eye Primer

- Clinque Black Honey (woo!)

- Living Proof Style Extender

I'm $184 away from rouge and I don't think I'm going to make it this year. I simply don't need anything else from Sephora and that shiny red card really isn't worth it to me when I already have flash. I'm $141 away but I don't see any real perk of being Rouge...and there's nothing that I need.

I think for new years I'm going to try to think more in terms of "A dollar saved is a dollar earned." and just make a wishlist and only buy them when there's sales... and nothing else, even if it's a "good deal" unless it's a gift ! I wonder how long this resolution will last =/

So.. I forgot my receipt when doing a return in-store today. She offered me store credit, so I just said yes to that. I just got home and realized "store credit" means I can't order online. 

Does anyone know if I can use this store credit to buy a gift card that I can use online?  I really, really, REALLY hate the mall and I don't want to shop in-store. 

 

I actually thought some of you had said that the store was able to look up purchases via your BI/VIB account when you didn't have a receipt, is that true?  If they do this will you still get store credit or will you get a refund to your payment method?

my store was unable to look up my purchase at all. via VIB account or anything. i asked them like 4 times and they kept refusing. it irks me to hear others getting that done because i wish they would offer it in my store. so, it's YMMV.

Oh, yeah.. If it's like a special circumstance or a higher level of service, then by default my store won't do it. I asked them for a little sample pot of something once and the girl looked at me like I had sprouted another head and said "um, we don't do that".  And then I found MUT and people talk about asking for samples of various things like it's nbd. Sigh.

oh my store has no problems with giving me samples of stuff. they gladly do it. but they will not look up your transaction for the return. they will instead take your ID and just give you store credit.

sorry your store sucks! they really shouldn't be stingy with the samples.

I'm with you there! I've made too many $1-2 orders that I don't know what to do with... I need to have the same resolution. It probably won't last long for me either!

No you can't use the credit to buy a giftcard. I asked.

Gahhh, I tried suspense a week ago and it didn't work, says it's expired/OOS. Does it still work for some?

lol. I just had the best experience and I thought I'd share. I called the Sephora 800# and they basically did not give a single f... So I called the store I was at and asked to speak to the store manager. I wasn't expecting them to do anything about it, I just wanted to say "hey, maybe next time tell people that you can only use the gift card in-store".  Anyway, I spoke to the manager and she was super nice and said she'd make an exception for me. She replaced the in-store card with a regular gift card I can use online. I also mentioned that I've routinely had bad customer service in-store, and she apologized and said I can always ask to speak to her and she'll help me get the "great customer experience you deserve". 
 
So impressed!

It worked for me on Friday...maybe it was just a momentary glitch?  (I've had my share of "glitches" on Sephora's website over the last few months!)

Honestly though, I don't think you missed out on much:  I got the Clinique "Black Honey" lippie, Korres eye primer, Living Proof style extender, and 2 fragrance samples (Lancome "Tresor" and Escada "Cherry in the Air").  None of which I will be using, ha.  But hey, they were free!

Frankly, they are not very good Sephora embassadors if they don't provide the 3 testers for you, I believe they are instructed to do so during training.

It's a totally legit, well-known site that sells authentic bottles sealed (for those that might be worried. it's just that retail marks up perfumes at an insane rate).

For those of you interested in possibly taking the VIB Rouge leap if you're a short amount away, I personally am not that impressed with it. The only major perk I've received is free shipping, which frankly, doesn't seem all that fantastic after spending $1,000 in a calendar year. I've only had a couple of discount codes, but not any more amazing that others I've received without Rouge. The first discount for becoming rouge is nice, but to me I spent more than I would have saved with the code just to GET to Rouge LOL

OOooo, I certainly hope there's improvement! I was so excited to become Rouge and I was just slowly disappointed over time when I saw the only perks I was receiving. I hope they step it up a bit! $1,000 is quite a pretty penny to spend LOL
