ok here's the story. Ive tried them all, tan secret, davd's tanner, tomas tan, jet tan by seriousskincar, fakebake, body drench, skin stain, 44 body builders instant color, lumiere, lancome, origins, private labels, bahama bronze, california tan, marvel, hemp. OK come on girls who out there self tans and t has actually found and good self tanner? In the instant bronzer dept I can name another 20 that I've tried., I exfoliate, moisturize and still all of them separate on my skin. What actually works wihout leaving the separatioj on the skin, where you see areas that have all the signs of a self tanner. Can anyone suggestion a different and.or new product? Looking forward to suggestions I have bought everything imaginable on line & still....the color is good but 2 days later you have the pinpoint speckles that are definite signs of self tanner separation. I'm ope for suggestions.thanks

i use estee lauder self tanner. its so far the only self tanner ive found that doesnt turn me orange. the only problem is that its pretty expensive (with taxes about $30) so i only go through about 2 a summer.

I tried it 1 time, but it didnt work out very well for me. I like my pale skin. I'm afraid of the sun. lol. :sdrop:

Well I found one by Maybelline called Solar Engery at Big Lots and it works really great, probably one of the better ones that I've found. However, I went to Wal*Mart to see if I could find it again (big Lots doesn't have it anymore) and they don't have it. I hope it wasn't one of Maybellines temporary products. :scared:

Another good one is Model Co Tan Airbrush in a Can. It smells like cocoa butter and instantly makes you darker. The only thing about it is it's kinda of pricey considering it only lasts me a couple of weeks (the smaller can).

I just bought another one by Banana Boat. I am going to use it today and I'll let you know how it works.

I have to ask a question myself...What about self tanners for your face? I am using Jergens Natural Glow, it's not breaking me out so that's good but I'm not really seeing a difference. My face is still pale! BTW, I have been using it everyday for the past week.

Islandgirl - you might need to use the next darkest shade perhaps. :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Now me, I have no luck with self tanners. I find that none of them look real on me or come out evenly. The best luck I've had is the Oil of Olay Revive - which is similar to the Jergens Glow except I find that the Oil of Olay doesn't have that fake tan smell. It bothers some people and some others it doesn't. I had to stop using the Jergens because of the smell. It gave me a headache. My sister uses it and has no problem and swears by it. I'd love to try the Johnson's Holiday lotion - I hope it comes to the USA.

I've also tried the Dior self tanner and I like it but its too expensieve to use regularly. ( $28.00 )

It's strange, I am using the medium tone. I might buy the darker one. I wonder if it takes longer for the face tanner to show up that way it looks more natural. ?

hmmmm....good question. I don't know. But on me, when I first tried this stuff I used the lightest shade and the next day I saw color (that's how pale I am):icon_redf

there are now so many self tanners on the market to choose from. Seems like everyone is getting on the band wagon. I went into the drug store just yesterday and saw that even "Aveeno" has one out now.

Your skin looks gorgeous in your avatar, I should hate you :laughno:

I would love to find a self tanner also but how do you girls get it on your backs???? and when do you apply it? at night?

I've read reviews elsewhere that say St. Tropez is the best but it's $$$

I like Dermalogica SPF 15 Self Tanner. I'm really pale, but it never, ever makes me look orange. It also spreads extremely evenly. I'mb out of it and have to re-order it soon--though I'm tempted to try Jergens, because it gets such good reviews and is so much less expensive! (Dermalogica.com)

oooh yeah - who does your backs when you use self tanner ?

I hate standing around naked waiting to dry ! Hmpf. what a pain!:madno:

I refuse to do just my arms and legs, imagine how silly you'll look naked? LOL!

HAHA! That's funny. I've never liked my skin but thank you so much for the compliment. :)

My husband rubs it on my back unless I am using the spray tan.

I apply right after my shower, it seems to rub in better that way. No streaks.

Talk about silly! Listen - er, read this. When I was young and foolish, I experimented with Bain de Soleil self tanner. I only applied it to my legs and at the time those long walking shorts were in style. I wore them to work and everyone was laughing at me because my legs were orange. :( /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I was young! I didn't know any better! I didn't look that dark in my home lighting! :scared:

:icon_eek: You're lucky, I wouldn't let my ape anywhere near my with something that stains! LOL

So I suppose I could take another shower in the evening and apply it then.

that's what I do but you still gotta stand around nekked waiting for it to dry. :smiletongue: :hehe: :icon_chee :smilehappyyes: :patches:

I have sympathy! I had a bottle of The Body Shop self tanner, I think the active ingredient was walnut oil and boy did I turn orange. Did I mention I didn't wash my hands properly after? They really did a terrible job of making self tanners back then.

Ah the trials of growing up, youth is wasted on the young!

LOL. He takes awhile to rub it in. I have to keep on telling him "It will streak if you don't do it right. You don't want to have a streaked wife!" He does a pretty good job but I have to rub the upper part of my back and around my shoulders a second time. I wear a lot of halter tops so I wanna make sure it's just right.

When I was in High School there was a cheerleader who was really pale and she would use self tanners. One time she used a color that was too dark and it looked like she was wearing an orange long sleeved top. Her hands were white and her arms were the brightest orange. :laughno: I felt so bad for her. Thankfully the tanners have improved since then. :icon_smil
