Okay, I'm really pleased with SS, 2 make-up items!!!  Not 1 but 2.  SS has definetly got thier act together.  While BB was out this month putting most of their energy and products on marketing themselves at the FNO in New York.  This month's BB theme is sorta like 'Summer to Fall Inventory FIFO'... which is not such a bad idea and particulalry fun if you just joined over the summer, but I already have nearly all the stuff coming in my box from either trading or direct purchase (introduced through the MUT) over the last 5 months.  

Both BB and BA are very good, but they do have a finite sample range and seem to run into repeats within 6 months, so my strategy might be to take a break from each after 6 months and then come back when they've cycled through the samples, plus it'll give me time to use the giant stock-pile of products, because with multiple subs, in addition to half a dozen monthly purchase for the full size that I like, the products and samples are coming in faster then I can use.  

I'm interested to see how SS will play out.

Another month SS has hit it out of the park for me. I dropped Birchbox for this month after looking at the boxes.

SS and GB are the only things I look forward to.

I'm starting to think SS is becoming my fave sub lol. Still enjoy BB, but there's less complaints on SS threads and the consistency of deluxe samples and everyone getting the same items is kinda nice. There's a good range of products coming out every month and I'm more infatuated with each box that rolls out. It makes the experience more enjoyable to see other ladies here raving like me lol. On the other hand, I like the variety of BB and surprise element of extras. It's also nice that there's usually a full sized item from time to time. I dunno, pluses for each, but SS has given me another box that at first glance, everything is pleasing and I'm not tempted to swap any one item.

wohoo!! super duper excited for this month's box! ss is definitely one of the more consistent subs i have. awesome customer service and great finds in each of my boxes. love it

I love that we all get the same items, the sample sizes are much larger than the ones I was receiving in my BB, and the $15 EVERY month. I can see the draw of BB for people like Zadi (just an example she earns every referral she gets) but I have no one to refer. That means I get approx $10 off every 2 months and I have to spend $20- $50 to get free shipping because the under $10 items you usually have to buy 2 of to get the free shipping for that months samples. I also don't look at what everyone else got and go "WTH?" so less stress for me

. I loved my BB for a very long time but I feel SS is more suited to me. I canceled BB 2 months ago and I don't seem to miss it like I thought I would. When I have more money I might join back up but I think I will have to avoid looking at the other boxes.

I agree with pretty much everything you said. I like that the boxes have recently become more consistent (as in, awesome) and I hope they keep it up. I give them 2 more months to completely sell me, but right now they are tied with BB, which I would have never said in April or May..

SS has full sized items often, too- Last month was a Deborah Lippman nail polish, and one or two boxes before that was a Vincent Longo lip pencil /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I also really enjoy that we all get the same items. As much as the idea of variety and supposedly customized boxes appeals, in execution it's just hard not to be resentful when someone gets an amazing box with full sized makeup products and truly deluxe samples, and you get a ziploc bag, some foil packets, and a miniature protein bar for the same amount of money, lol...Even when I logically know that the value isn't really what it's about, it's still frustrating.

When it comes down to it, I have to evaluate each sub by how much satisfaction and enjoyment I get for the money. My sub boxes basically ARE my entertainment/fun budget each month, so I'm going to be picky about what I spend it on. And right now, Sample Society is more satisfying for me. There's less of the surprise element and less of the gamble, but there are consistently good products. Even on the months I was unsubscribed, I would have been happy with every single one of the boxes they sent out.

This box looks great! While I feel a little blah about yet another lip gloss, this one looks great (love Borghese) and it's not their fault that I have received about  50000 glosses in the last two months.  SUPER excited for the others, especially the Ahava!

Oooo..you are so right lol..how did that slip my mind? I will say that SS usually highlights brands that are more...expensive? I guess, which is hell on my budget if I find a lot of HG items lol. All said, I'm happy and have no grievances. Another stellar month and a happy customer here!

Funny that you say that cause three of the items you mentioned is what  I'll be getting in my birchbox this month. Damn ziploc bag.. I really do enjoy that we get all the same products as well. No hidden jealousy lol
