Since I want my highlights to be a little darker (they're blonde now) to match my natural hair color more, can I do that? Could I go to a salon and then make them darker? I'm sure I can, but I want to ask, because I don't want to feel (entirely) stupid! hehe. And highlights are all new to me, so I have no idea. They're just a little too bright for me, so I would really appreciate it if you guys would help! Please!!!! Thanks!! Also, if I DO make them a little darker, then when they grow out, they won't grow out blonde will they? Thanks! -Rachael

Hi, I believe that what you want is know as "lowlights." Your hair will grow back the natural color.

she's right. The root color will be your natural color. And they can add a toner or a color over the highlights to tone it down if you think they are too bright.
