QOTD September 13, 2012: What is your favorite sandwich?

What is your favorite sandwich? Something tasty you make at home? Something from a restaurant?

My personal favorite is a sub I make at home. It has:

Turkey or Roast Beef (my mood changes)

Provolone Cheese

Tomatoes

Lettuce

Avocado

Pickles

Very thinly sliced red onions

A nice wheat roll with one thin stripe of mayo and one stripe of mustard on one side and red wine vinegar on the other.

I usually make a giant samitch and then cut off a slice to eat whenever its mealtime.

Omg! You are making me hungry! I'm not much of a sandwich girl but I love grilled cheese sandwiches made with havarti cheese.

While it might sound stupid to some, my favorite sandwich is a rather unorthodox tuna concoction: mix your tuna with bacon bits and mustard (dijon or brown, use less if using brown), then fill up a SOFT onion pita (the fluffy kind, not the flat ones) with that and alfalfa sprouts. Melt a little bit of cheese on it if you like. OMG, sooo good.

My second-favorite is more of a wrap: Use a flavored tortilla, roasted red pepper hummus spread thickly, a few pieces of high-quality roast beef, and coarsely chopped spicy bread n butter pickles.

Right now, it's a breakfast sandwich! Eggs, provolone, bacon or ham, lightly mayo'ed and Dijon or spicy brown mustard, atop a croissant or English muffin! It'll change later... I'm a huge fan of veggie wraps with herb cream cheese and a dollop of chicken salad or turkey with wasabi mayo in a wrap!

I loveLOVE grilled cheese with crispy bacon inside (and avocado, if I have some). And lately I have a thing for using one piece of cheddar and one piece of dill havarti cheese in my sandwiches. NOM.

YEAH GRILLED CHEESE! Everyone loves it. I like to mix it up and add things...tomatoes or pickles or turkey, or just the classic kraft single on some bread. BUT I think my favorite sandwich is a panini they make at the cafeteria at my work, its turkey, havarti, avocado, red peppers, tomato, and mayonnaise. I want to go get one for lunch now.

Havarti is an awesome cheese, I especially love it with dill. Nummy!

I love cucumber sandwiches! I toast bread, butter it add slices of cucumber, salt and pepper, add lettuce and enjoy!

Interesting, my husband is the only person I've ever met who does cuc samitches. He slices them on the mandolin to get them really skinny, stacks them high, salts them and slathers on the mayo.

When I lived back East, we used to go to High Tea and have cucumber sandwiches, they were awesome especially on a really warm day.

I love grilled toast, tasty cheese, turkey slice, sundried tomato with fresh spinach leaves..so yummm!
