Hey girls,

I got my hair Japanese Ion Straightened about 5 weeks ago. I'm wondering when/if I can start curling my hair for special occasions...and if I do curl it, would it cause my hair to become wavy or somehow less straight?

Thanks in advance for all of your responses =)

I wouldn't have a clue! I think your best bet would be call the salon you had it done at and ask them what you can/cannot do. The last thing you want is to ruin your gorgeous new hair!

It's just the first 72 hours that are crucial after a chemical straightening or perm. The hair cuticle is now permately straight, so you are free to do as you choose. It will not go back curly or wavy as you've manipulated the hair to be straight.

Hmm...I think you shouldn't curl your hair just yet. I have done something similar twice before so far, and its best not to disturb the newly formed bonds of the now straightened hair for a longer period of time. Also when your hair is wet, you shouldn't tie it and let the hair down straight till it dries, if not, your hair will have the mark of the hair rubber band around your hair. This was what my hairstylist advised me.
