Hoping Janelle, the guru, can make some product recommendations for me. My hair is highlighted, in a chin length bob right now. I would like to grow it out just a bit and have it look healthy.

It is fine, but I have a lot of it, and even though it is fine, it tends to look dry and a bit frizzy on the ends. Can you recommend a good shampoo, conditioner and maybe styling product for this type of hair?

Also, feel free to ask any questions about my hair type if you need more info to make the best recommendation.

Also, I ALWAYS blow dry my hair, since when I don't, it looks "puffy". Is there a product you can recommend to put in my hair if I don't want to blow it dry, to help it look it's best?

Thanks so much!

Cass

Make sure when you blow dry it, you blow dry from roots to end. It smooths the cuticle and keeps you from having frizz. Also use the cool setting to close back the open cuticle. (heat opens the cuticle and causes the frizz)

Try using a smoothing serum to seal the ends. Make sure you use a color treated shampoo and conditioner. I would also recommend trying Paul Mitchell Color Protect Locking Spray. It is a leave in conditioner. It is not greasy and doesn't weigh down your hair like some leave ins.

BTW I am a Licenced Cosmetologist!

Well, since I'm a fresh convert and fully trying to ride shotgun on this band wagon, I love HealthySexyHair! All the way! It's helped A LOT with my hair! It actually lays flat for once after I shower, and I don't have to load it with hairspray and gel to get it that way! It's the HealthySexyHair Soymilk Shampoo & Conditioner, as well as the Soy Tri-Wheat Leave In Conditioner. Janelle might have better tips for you on the blow drying and straighening part. I don't do either right now, and I hardly even blow dry it at all anyway

HI! my hair is also fine (but lots of it) and highlighted. I recently started using Frederic Fekkai shampoo and conditioner (a bit pricey) IT IS AWESOME!!! and for styling I cant live without RUSK blofoam, and finish with Neutrogena Triple Moisture shine serum. I've been pretty happy with the results, but of course will always be looking for new suggestions!

My parents both work in a high end salon & I have a hair problem also. Recently I had a consultation & the salon as a whole decided that the best for damaged or unhealthy hair that needs to be repaired or just healthier in general is Loreal Kerastase. Its a very very very good product. Runs on the expensive end. And the best kind is the Cement. Its in a green bottle. It has done wonders for my hair. Blow drying my hair is horrible. But recently I've also discovered the wonderful brand Chi. They make blow dryers & flat irons. I can't give you the exact description of why they are so good but I know that as far as I'm concerned, its better than all the rest. This is the first blow dryer in the whole world that has actually flattened my hair when drying it. It has something to do w/ the way its made, the ions in it. It dries the hair without taking out any moisture. It doesn't make my hair dry. Also, the flat iron is amazing if you like to flat iron your hair!! =] Also, one last thing.. my grandmother went thru something a few months back where she was losing her hair no the top of her head so it was thinning out real bad. It didnt completely bald, but it was bad. And she freaked out & decided to do something about it. Well, she bought these vitamins actually at walmart called Hair, skin, & nails, they worked magic on her! I've started taking them & noticed a huge difference in my hair. Also whats good for my hair is Biotin. Okay, thats my rant! Hope you enjoyed! :]

I would get a trim first... start fresh. I like HealthySexyHair's line. (As I'm sure you all know by now! lol) It's great for dry or unmanagable hair.

I just did that....thus, the all one length bob. But I also get my hair highlighted and it is a bit dry.
From that line that you like, is there a particular shampoo and conditioner and styling product you would recommend for my hair type?

alot of people seem to like pantene products. i hear that they are equivalent to

the salon brands. u migh want to give them a try.

hope this helps

I have heard that about Pantene as well. Would love to get the guru's take on this line!

My parents tell me that pantene coats your hair with something that makes it snaggly. I also had a friend that this happened to, her hair was breaking off because her hair tangly from pantene.
Be careful

Are there any priducts other than the Kerastase that your parents recommend? I have tried a few things from that line and don't like it all that much, at least for my hair.

I think Loreal's true nature thearphy especially the mega mostuire creme is fabalous. The best porduct I have tied. For the Frizz the healthy sexy smoothie or chi silk infuion is good< both of these products don't weigh the hair down.

Roux Porosity Control Shampoo & Conditioner are great at eliminating frizz by bringing your hairs pH level back to normal, thus helping the cuticle to lay flat. The conditioner is also very moisturizing.

I am wondering if not many people are familiar with this brand, as I have not heard this recommendation before. Any else ever heard of this shampoo and conditioner? Would love to hear some feedback!

Would the HealthySexyHair work for oily hair or is it only for dry & unmangagable hair?

HealthySexy I've seen work on all types of hair.... Actually the brand is Sexy Hair Concepts, and they have subdivisions... (CurlySexy, BigSexy, HealthySexy etc.) I use the healthysexy soy milk moisturizing shampoo & conditioner, followed by the tri-wheat leave in... and finally the soy smoothie straightening tonic.

Janelle - do you know much about this Roux Porosity Shampoo? My old hairdresser told me that my hair looked damaged and took so long to dry because it was so porous. Not sure if he knew what the heck he was talking about, but I figured I would ask.
